The Butterfly Effect is awful.

I went in the movie didn't expecting much since I didn't really like Ashton Kutcher playing the lead role either. But the movie turned out pretty good. If you let the technical stuff get a hold of you, then you won't enjoy the movie as much. Just let everything flow and accept it and it's not a bad movie. By all means it's not a 100% serious movie. There are some scenes where you ARE supposed to laugh.

The movie is a bit disturbing, suspenseful, and funny at times. I'm not sure if this is a good combo but I think if you're a Ashton Kutcher hater (like me), you should still give it a try. More often than not, I bet you'll like the movie.

Ashton however, is not happy with the movie and plus he supposedly got 'fired' from another film he was working on.....

If you like this movie, you probably have a habit of liking really bad movies or just dont know better or plain stupid. This movie is intrinsically bad. I watch a lot of movies, and I guess that makes me a snob, but this movie is not good on any level.

I liked this movie a lot, more than I liked ROTK. Ashton did a very good job covering the role and the movie had a pretty damn good plot as well.

I enjoyed it. I watch tons and tons of movies. I'm on the 8 out at a time plan on netflix. I worked at hollywood video for two years in high school. I don't have a habit of liking bad movies. Stop trying to push your opinion on others and just accept the fact that people won't like the same thing. I think all the lord of the rings movies are horribly boring. Doesn't mean the millions of people who like them don't know what a good movie is. You obviously went into the movie disliking ashton kutcher and never gave the movie a chance.

I might see it just for the laugh.

I haven't seen the movie yet (plan to see later on today), but calling it better than ROTK might be an slight overexaggeration. I do have a friend that did see it yesterday, and he said it was probably the best movie he had ever seen, and is the only movie ever that he would actually go see in the theaters more than once.

i wasn't expecting his drama acting to be good but i thought it was pretty decent for his first drama movie

but the plot/idea behind the movie was really good IMO and i thought it was pretty well executed

think donnie darko-esq done differently and multiple times with multiple outcomes......
and maybe alot of you should go into more movies neutral than thinking "this is gona suck" b/c if you do that then it will suck just because of a bad additude

To start out 2004, I would have to say this movie is THE best. In my books the plot is a definate 9/10 for originality, the actoring gets an 8/10, the effects get a 9/10, for an overall experience of 9/10. There are several short bewbie scenes, which will definately enhance the experience for some here :Q A definate "must own" for DVD (versus a "Netflix only" film).

Not to raise a dead thread... but I just watched this movie tonight (I had heard its awful thanks to all the morons here...) and I was extremely pleasantly surprised. Great movie. Anyone who thought this movie was awful just didn't give it a chance and wants to jump on the bashing bandwagon. Seriously people, you don't always have to do/say/think what everyone else thinks. Its ok to like the movie, it was good.
