I'll try Craigslist first. eBay has been a second option ever since their fee hike.Originally posted by: foghorn67

Do you use that combo much? I have a Rebel 2000 body collecting dust in my closet.

edit: will be testing this lens against the canon ef 1.8 II. also, i'll probably pick up an OM to EOS adapter and K to EOS and test against the OM 50/1.8 and the super tak 55/1.8
I'll look forward to the tests. I just played the eBay lottery and managed to snag a 55mm AI-S Micro-Nikkor for cheap. I'll test that next Wednesday (FedEx Ground is slow as nails).Originally posted by: ElFenix
just got the lens last week, haven't done much with it.
the combo doesn't look bad. the 'chrome' rebel 2k certainly looks better than the 'chrome' xt and xti have. i have a thing for chrome cameras, unfortunately other than the M8 there aren't any modern ones. ok, there's also the zeiss ikon and some bessas. but those are hardly modern.

Well my new lens arrived. Good news and bad news.
Bad news: I ordered a macro lens, and didn't receive it. I was supposed to receive a 55mm Micro-Nikkor f/2.8 in great condition. My macro photography plans have been put on hold.
Good news: They mistakenly sent me a lens worth much more than I paid for the Micro-Nikkor. 55mm Nikkor-S f/1.2, factory AI'd.
Hello there!
So I get to play around with some low-low-light photography, clean up the lens a little (lots of dust/dirt on the outside), then sell it for double what I paid and possibly pick up a bigger Micro-Nikkor (maybe a 105mm f/4).
DOF is brutal at f/1.2 when I'm trying to manually focus with my D80's "green dot" indicator. It's focused on the near edge of the "F" key.Originally posted by: foghorn67
lol. I guess that would be an okay mistake in my book as well.
