In my experience, this memory works great with older Intel chipset motherboards that need slower memory (specifically Skylake motherboards), but your mileage may vary.

A few months ago, I used that Aegis kit in a B450 board with a 2600x at 2933 MHz C16 by manually setting all sub timings. It was $55 at the time, and about the cheapest thing around. I saw it for forty something a few days ago, on sale.

I was using that Aegis memory with an Asrock B450M Pro4 motherboard at 2933MHz until I replaced it with the Crucial Balistix 3200MHz. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Yeah, the CAS latency doesn't seem so great... until you realize, these are 1.20V DIMMs! @ 3200 speed! (Are these fabled JEDEC DDR4-3200 DIMMs? Like, REAL 3200 RAM?)

Also, check out the 64GB kit, 2x32GB DIMMs. Also CAS 20, 1.20V.

Edit: Yeah, I ordered a few kits to try out on my machines.

32GB of DDR4-3600 (kit of 2) for just a hair under $100, not too bad.

Pretty decent deal, I think, overall, if you wanted a 2x32GB kit. (Or buy two, and be a real baller with 128GB of RAM in your rig!)

I bought those "Zeus" DDR4-3200 1.20V CAS20 32GB kit (2x16GB) for $91.99 last week, which would be $184 for 64GB in four sticks, this deal is $170 for 64GB in two sticks. Seems like a better deal, somewhat, although this ram takes the standard "overclocked" 1.35V vDIMM.

32GB of *RGB* DDR4-3600 RAM (kit) (white) for ~$115, not too bad. Very little premium for the RGB, and this is 3600 RAM.

  • DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800)
  • Timing 18-22-22-42
  • CAS Latency 18

At prices like these, I'll stick a kit of something like this, even in a budget browser box! (Along with a 480GB SSD!)

$84.99 for 32GB (2x16GB) of DDR4-3000. That's not too bad, especially if you want to put ram into a Zen/Zen+ rig, or an Intel rig with something lower than a Z490 chipset.

Probably not the wisest choice for Zen3 rigs, but for the price, it should be great for anything else.

These days, DDR4-3200/3600 under $70 for a 16GB kit is the benchmark. And now, as I'm posting this, I'm realizing, that this is a SINGLE DIMM, I think. Sorry! Edit: Nope, pictures show two DIMMs in a package, I think that we're good to go.

Yeah, my new system wants the fast RAM, but be warned. I bought a Mushkin Redline Lumina 3600 32GBx2 kit, and it crashes above 3200 with my 5900X. To double down, the RGB feature isn't recognized by my Asus motherboard (a specific feature Mushkin advertises - i.e. "Aura compatible"). Yes, I overpaid on it for the RGB, by about $40. It seems not all 3600 kits are created equal. It should have run fine on the XMP profile (Asus ROG Strix B550-F WiFi). I feel like the performance numbers are just suggestions or possibilities.

I miss Samsung Magic RAM Sticks.

Yeah, I've found some 3600 kits (especially from the "cheaper" vendors), to be somewhat hit-or-miss, in some AMD mobos, with Zen2/Zen3 CPUs.

I'm currently running 4x8GB GSkill Trident RGB (Not TRident Z) DDR4-3600, I think CAS 22-18-18-38 or something. Not great timings. But they do work out-of-the-box in XMP mode. Though, they're not perfect, according to Reliability Monitor in Win10, I get rare appcrashes at times, which I blame on the RAM. I do have it "pushed" to an FCLK of 1800 though, which may be part of that. OTOH, I'm doing CPU mining and GPU mining in the background, and those don't usually crash, so I don't know. Maybe it's just Windows being Windows.

Have you been in touch with Mushkin? Nearly all Ryzen 3's (and most Ryzen 2's) should be able to support DDR4-3600 speeds easily on that B550.

I have the non-wifi version of that same Asus board running at DDR4-3600 speed right now with 32gb Corsair 3600 (2x16 cl-16) & a Ryzen 3600 @ 4.425.

I think you may have defective RAM.... I would RMA it myself.

EDIT: I'm assuming you've tried nudging the VDIMM up slightly? I've had more than one system refuse to boot @ higher speeds without a touch extra power to the memory.

Yeah, I'll play more with it later... just trying to stabilize everything as this will become my main system (from a 6700k/64GB/2TB NVME/4TB SSD/RTX2070) once I grab a 4TB NVME this weekend for secondary and swap over my 2070. Just having 12 cores will be nice for my work - the 6700K is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, and I'm tired of waiting ages for file explorer to display files (I work with a lot of different media files, as a game developer)

Upping the voltage is a good call. 2 Main machines ago, early DDR3 RAM needed a bit extra tweaking on the voltages to get right. I even remember some motherboards having a dip switch to bump the voltage up enough to fry newer sticks, just to support older ones. Yikes.

EDIT: So after fiddling with the Mushkins, I gave up and bought some G.Skill. No issues booting up at rated speed with DOCP profile, unlike the Mushkin, which refused to work at anything but the BIOS default speeds with any voltage and timing settings. That's getting returned to NewEgg.

So the lesson is that some RAM is more equal to others.

I picked up a couple of these kits a few weeks ago, but of the 3200 speed DDR4. They were also $129.99. Now the 3600 speed DDR4 is on sale. I wish that I had waited, I guess.

Anyways, this seems to be one of the better deals for 3600 RAM, although, given some of my history with Team Group, their 3200 RAM seems fine these days, but I wonder if there might be some issues with the 3600 meeting spec. Hopefully not. (I had some Team Group 3200 or 2933 back in the day, that would only really do 2400 or sometimes 2666, but that was with a Ryzen 1600 CPU, a Zen1, which had a (Relatively) lousy memory-controller.) Current stuff seems to be much better and much more compatible.

Also, NO RGB.
