2TB LEVEN SSD 139.99... Debating whether I should pull a trigger, seems like a decent deal...
It's been a while since I bought my last SSD, been mainly buying m.2 drives, but I don't have enough slots for the fast m.2, and I need some space... Pity the SSD is so slow compared to m.2, lol, never thought I would say that...

Can't find the TBW rating for this particular model.

JS600 endurance for `1 TB is a paltry 240TB. So this is most likely a "write sometimes, read most of the times", type of SSD. If that's your intended purpose, go for it.

Good point, maybe should stay with the better brands.. They say it's JS500 I think, so even lower model?
All they really say is 2 Million Hours MTBF, but no TBW. Apparently no DRAM cache either...
I may just wait on a deal on an MX500, still a good drive I think.

I was very tempted by this but the customer reviews are brutal. Eight of the first ten are one star reviews (one of the others was a two star), most talk about early death. Most damning to me was the review by Bob S. where he mentioned he has been waiting two months for ANY response to emails and RMA requests on a dead drive. Life is too short to deal with shoddy products/vendors.

OTOH I remain amazed at how much SSD prices continue to fall-they seem to be the only tech product these days that is still going down in price.

Well, they are being OBSOLETED by m.2 drives... What would be interesting is larger SSDs that are cheap (say 8TB for $200). I don't want to pay $200 for 2TB SSD, when 10+x faster alternatives are nearly the same price... We'll get there eventually.

Thanks. I'll include a note to read through the reviews.

Never owned one myself but nearly everything I've read about these drives has been positive .... too bad I don't need another SATA SSD at the moment!

I actually DO need one...my not so great pre-built came with a WD Green 240gb SSD. I would like to replace that one. I considered the WD blue in the FS/FT forum...but for the price difference, this makes better sense.

Also note many of the WD SSD's including the "Blue" mid-rangers have undergone a "sneaky" redesign which removed the DRAM cache. (same applies to equivalent Sandisk's)

Yes. Seems to be the one called WD Blue 3D NAND. It also has a much lower TBW rating than the real or maybe previous WD Blue. Shame on WD. They must have hired shitty managers who only want to show good financials with zero regard for their company's reputation.

Great price, I see the NVme gen 3 version for $109, my MOBO supports these, is the speed difference noticeable in real world use?.

From Sata to NVMe is a huge improvement. Now from a nice PCIe 3.0 NVMe to a PCIe 4.0 NVMe is hardly noticeable to me.

If you don't have one already and your motherboard supports it, i'd say do it!

Intel 670p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNU010TZX1
+ $25 off w/ promo code SSBR3Z24, limited offer

$99.99 - $25 = $74.99

Yeah, it's QLC, but it's from Intel, and it doesn't suck.

Ideal for a secondary M.2 NVMe for a games drive, for example.
