Most people dont need NVME speeds and or the "hassle" of installing one. Sata are plug and play for the average folks.

I've done plenty of computer builds even when I had to use a regular screwdriver. Although I admit there are a whole lot less F* bombs when I take the time to have all the proper tools at hand. Not having to fish out tiny screws that always seem to fall into the worst areas is nice.

I have installed several and they are trivial. The only PIA is when the mb has it on the back and you have to take the motherboard out to add one after system is setup or replace. Not sure if itx boards are still putting them on the back; but they were the last time i needed a new mb. Btw there are two types of nvme - pcie cards and m.2 - pcie are of course a lot easier to install because they aren't on the back of the mb

Btw you want a pia try mucking with a wireless adapter for a nuc. The actual m.2 adapter is fine those antenna wires can be a bit of a pia.

Anyway i have a few older systems i have to muck with (parents pentinum pc); so for those sata are a lot easier to deal with since they don't have m.2 slots.
