Biden himself says it's not a stuttering problem... so what is it exactly?

_____________

All he said was that he himself doesn't think he still has a stuttering problem even though other people think he does. He says he forgets things. This is common among people his age.

If this guy was in any stage of dementia, we'd know it for sure by now.

Except we do not. We're concerned that the word "socialism" doesn't play well to the electorate, particularly high propensity older voters. It has nothing to do with actual policy. It has to do with optics, and beating Trump.

Funny, I never noticed anyone having a pet name for a candidate that was clipped from Trump and Breitbart, except for Sanders supporters. Like you. I find it hilarious that you try to "both sides" me by turning this into a pissing contest over who uses Trumpian talking points, and in so doing, you call her "Broom Hilda." Guess where you can find that? Hint: You didn't invent it. You guys repeat these things without even realizing you're doing it.

I've personally never used a Trump talking point in relation to Sanders. And while I surely haven't read every post here, I can't recall anyone else doing it either. Not once.

2 out of 3 potential presidents have their own cult of personality & Joe isn't one of them.

Here is reality, we can all quibble about one person platform vs another vs another
we can all complain that Joe isn’t our perfect choice

what we can do is say Joe or maybe Bernie got the most ones and most delegates. Hopefully the loser is graceful and takes up some issues to solve from the loser and just incorporate them into their platform and the loser helps win the election.
Trump has to majorly screw things up to lose which is a possibility.

I am already sick of the Bro I know who is now acting like a deplorable claiming Bernie votes in MA were thrown out.

edit: per the Maddow interview with Bernie he thinks having two old white guys on the ticket is a real bad idea. I’m not so sure I agree, we are at a weird point in history maybe it isn’t such a bad idea.
Also Maddow beat Bernie up pretty good over the low youth turn out which Bernie said he was very disappointed with. He offered no reason why turnout would be better for the general election other than saying he wants big structural changes and that will only happen if millions of people turn out to vote.
Bernie made the mistake of assuming the centrist vote would remain splintered. His path relied on a contested convention. It doesn’t help that Warren and Sanders supporters have been at each other’s throats.

It surprised me that the centrists rallied around Biden to stop the rise of a candidate who most resembles what Democrats used to stand for. The scary socialist line is getting old.

I was hoping for a Sanders/Buttigieg or Sanders/Klobuchar or Sanders/Gabbard ticket. I accept that won’t happen, but don’t agree with the chain of events that led to why.

Biden is now framing his campaign as a bridge to the future. That pretty much means no Warren.

Not enthused by a Biden/Harris or Biden/Booker ticket.

Biden/Michelle Obama probably makes the most sense at this point.

The centrist vote uniting is only part of why Bernie is losing. He's also losing because his core constituency of youth voters aren't turning out for him. They aren't voting for Joe either. They're just not voting in this primary season, for whatever reason. That fact alone should give everyone pause about how viable a candidate Sanders ever was.

I see no reason to think that Obama would have any interest in the position.

While I like Harris and Booker well enough, I kind of like the idea of keeping the experienced senators in the Senate and going with someone like Lujan Grisham.

Or maybe you're just ignoring his verbal shit like this

for bonus points pay attention to the two people behind him who were silently reciting it behind him and how they just stop when he mangles it....

In all sincerity and speaking as someone who's struggled with a stutter his whole life, that looked to me like a stutterer hitting a block and bailing.

Biden wasn't stuttering when he faced off against Palin in 2008

Biden also handled Ryan very well in 2012

now you contrast some of his statments against Ryan to how he is today....

Like it or not it's more than just a case of someone with a stuttering issue....

I don't think you have much experience with stutterers or dementia. You should count your blessings.

Do you actually know anyone that age? If you did, you'd understand the difference between dementia and ordinary cognitive decline.

Think what you want the video evidence is clear Biden has lost a step or two since he crushed Palin and Ryan in subsequent Presidential cycles in 2008 and 2012. it's obvious.

It's very possible that he's lost a step or two! There's a big difference between that and dementia.

And the one declaration of independence clip just looked super-familiar. I hit blocks and have to change what I was trying to say all the freaking time. But I've also gotten compliments on my briefing skills, which I can often get through without major issue. *shrug*

Do you actually know anyone that age? If you did, you'd understand the difference between dementia and ordinary cognitive decline.

So "cognitive decline" is a good thing now?? Also remember that he will (in the unlikely case that he is elected) be in office for 4 years (theoretically 8, but that seems out of the question). If he is at best in cognitive decline now, how will he cope in 4 years? And initially, Biden was my favorite to win, because I though he had the best chance to defeat trump. But after seeing some of his speeches and some of the incoherent responses during the debate, I think his chances are extremely slim.

Trump on the other hand, doesnt have to worry about cognitive decline. You cant lose what you never had.

Again, the debate between Biden and Trump should make the distinction. Do you not agree?
