The New York Times is asking for more deep state actors to put their own political views above all else, and “join the conspiracy”. The admission of the deep state existing could be a preemptive move to try to protect members of the deep state in advance of the supposedly damning FISA report. This admission is in stark contrast with how the media has portrayed anyone talking about the deep state until recently.

Every time I see them try to make equivocations or outright defend corruption (Laura Ingraham on Bribery), I am convinced they'll eventually abandon democracy and adopt authoritarianism. Their fawning over Russia and using terms like 'based' and 'thats the way to go' every time they see dictatorial or brutal behaviour indicates such. They know pesky things that prop up minorities or level the playing field in areas like income will weaken them and an ethnic + religious + political majority totalitarian system would be perfect for them
