ok first off The Blues Brothers original cut is better in every way than Breakfast Club even on the 103rd watching.

Breakfast Club was ... ok. I'm sure it was much better back when it came out, with those typical 80s stereotypes resonating with the general public.

I thought that throughout, the acting was mediocre, not terrible, not great. Emilio Esteves was probably the best of the bunch, and would likely have been even better if they gave him the part of John as-per original casting. Judd Nelson would have been better as the wrestler with his dumb, slow stare.
Molly Ringwald is a joy on the eyes and I've loved her since Spacehunter: Adventures In The Forbidden Zone (watch it).
The principal is laughably over the top, which, i guess, was meant to be?
The two other guys are fairly marginal to the story but they are useful as character to avoid making the script claustrophobic.

I did like the story and how the characters interact. It was well written, well directed, well paced, interesting and different from your usual film script of hero shoots bad guy. The music was ok, and while i'm not terribly happy with how this is a stick-it-to-the-man story in the end, i'm not sure how the characters should feel like they have won in the end, as they basically ate shit for the whole day.

I don't feel I've missed much when i didn't watch this film back in the 80s.

Got my stuff from digi-key today so could continue on the multi JAMMA project.

Finished up the main harness and adjusted the Maximum Force harness, and decided to test everything out through the switcher. I tested with my spare beat up gun in case something could fry it. Tested it out hooked up to P1 first, then hooked up to P2 next, and everything works perfectly. So now I'm going to finish up wiring the other 2 harnesses with the correct connectors, then connect up all the games and fire it up.

I have the parts to put together my leetle home server, so I will start that up. Once I get an OS on it, I have files and pics scattered across a few drives to organize. That should keep me going for a few days.
Then to get the right apps on there for music and image hosting and grabbing. At least another couple of days of dinking around.

I was able to show my son the Blues Brothers movie on Sunday. He was not that impressed but he still liked it. It might have been my singing that soured him on the movie.

We got so incredibly lucky. We sold our house and it was supposed to close on Friday. The governor shut down the state on Thursday night. Some how our agent was able to close escrow and get it recorded on Friday. Yay!!!!!!!

I didn't design anything. It's a Maximum Force arcade cabinet. The "shelf" I built though I could give dimensions of it pretty easily, I don't have plans for it and just winged after taking some measurements inside the cabinet and drawing it on a piece of paper.

Then I have upgraded the board with a kit to convert it to Maximum Force / Area 51 duo which was a real arcade release. Those can be found on eBay for like $55.

And then I bought a Police Trainer and Carnevil board from people online.

Went to Costco today and it was pleasant. Wore my N95 mask and gloves. They were only letting in a 'small' amount of customers at a time so I had to wait a mere 3-4 minutes to get in. Once I got in it was so peaceful. A lot of people wearing masks and gloves as well. Most things were in stock, but many were limited to 1 per person. There were absolutely zero paper towels or toilet paper though, but there was bread and hamburger buns!

Finished up my multi light gun arcade cabinet project and it appears to all be working fine.

Here is a pic of the "final" installation. I still need to screw down the top board and the PSU but other than that this is how it's setup with wires and stuff. The cable management is okay but not sure what else to really do. I may play around with it a bit. I need to run the wires down below through those gapes because that is where part of the back panel goes and the other part is flush with the back panel.

And here is an image of the video issue I was talking about, just hoping it is in a monitor issue but will play around with it tomorrow. It definitely wasn't doing this when running the boards straight up without the switcher, but again, everything was calibrated with the boards before and I haven't done any with the switcher.

Once I get it all calibrated and stuff I'll probably take another video. I just purchased Lethal Enforcers so that will be put in there shortly once I receive it. I do plan on also doing a capkit/flyback on the monitor and it will be my first, so we'll see how that goes. Not sure when I'll get around to it.

Finally had a day to put the final coat of white paint on my daughter's bed frame. Every day since I can remember it's either been raining, cold, or windy.

My wife got 2 beds from a co-worker for our kids....they were twin beds and I extended the rails 5" with plywood and steel....then painted them.




I have other projects, but got internet for the house after doing without for 5 years...bought some Xbox games and am going to be lazy a little. I'm definitely going to do some painting soon in the hallways/stairwell to finish a few other big projects.
