Just dropped $300 at whole foods, buying mostly for me and the gf plus some stuff for my sister's household. Got everything to make Beef Bourginion (sp) then dropped 120 at the discount liquor store. Such are the times we are in

Picked this up today from someone locally to put into my multi JAMMA light gun cabinet. I have never played it before so we'll see how I like it.

We did the transaction socially distant. I paid him on paypal and 10 minutes before I arrived he put it out in his driveway on his trailer, and I just grabbed it so I never even saw the guy or met him.

Had Pho last night and Miso glazed cod is on the menu for tonight. So far coronavirus eating habits have been quite tasty
Wife made miso glazed arctic char the other night. Tomorrow we plan on ordering from a local restaurant we have never eaten at. It's a Hawaiian restaurant. I don't consider Pho and Sushi to be Hawaiian but maybe that's just my ignorance of Hawaiian fare. Had very good reviews on Google so we will give it a shot.

I've been using the EarthCams app fairly much. Very interesting peeking in on various locations around the world and here in the US of A. As the virus hit, the streets were packed all over the world. In New Orleans for example, Bourbon Street was as festive as it could be so it's not that shocking that Louisiana later became on of the virus hotspots. Prague too was full of people and vacationers on the square, then suddenly noting. No one. Even the famous Temple Bar over in Dublin became a ghost town. Streets empty. The Abbey Road crossing in London had been full of vacationers and locals reenacting that famous Beatle album photo. Then suddenly, the road was only cars and busses. The pedestrians staying away.

Looking around the world, live in real time, was and still is quite an eye opener. Sad, actually. But in the last few days the people are beginning to return. Not as strong as before, but slowly. Back in Prague the foot traffic is returning slowly, and the same with Abbey Road. Dublin's Temple Bar is closed but the streets are coming alive once again. New Orleans has stopped their live feed and instead only offers up photos from the the past when Bourbon street was alive. You can get a real true indication of the Coronavirus impact from just poking around the world watching how life has changed. The streets of New York still eerie quiet, many casino streets in Las Vegas are actually blocked off to pedestrians, the Florida Everglades glass bottom boats all lined up in a row with no where to go. Over in Bali Indonesia the elephants are getting a break. The Bali elephant bathing pool has no one to ride the elephants, and the Bali elephant trail cam seldom do you see a single soul walking along.
That is not all I am doing to entertain myself during this pandemic, but at least it's something.

I was watching the 5th Avenue cam earlier, not a soul in sight. I've never, ever, ever seen NYC like that. Crazy.

So damn high right now, i can't find a damn thing else i would rather do besides sit here blaring music ignoring everything else outside this music and room. Having a ball with this new group ,its maybe the first time i enjoyed a good album since Pink Floyd. I guess finding tons of new music is my new hobby. Most of my days consist of finding new stuff.

My teeth are fuzzy from eating Easter candy.

I think I'll stick with home-baked desserts from now on.

I kinda want some candy but that would require me going out lol. I could past, i got a whole pot of pasta i been digging into since yesterday. Not a follower of Easter anyways so yeah. I will prob get the munchies and eat my third damn plate of pasta cause i need it like a hole in the head.

I miss making jello and pudding and frozen desserts. Iced mocha sounds good about now. I need a good blender if i want some milkshakes or something. I lack one atm.

It's kind of like the day after Halloween, aka Adult Halloween (50% off candy lol).

I recently discovered that the mini Cadberry solid-chocolate eggs make AMAZING homemade trailmix, along with mixed salted nuts & other mix-ins (I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's jumbo raisins!). No sissy M&M's for the chocolate fix in my trailmix!

Yeah i go for the day after Valentines day candy, the dollar general usually has TONS of jelly beans and sweethearts which are my favorite.

About trailmix i sometimes have a bit of it but usually i go for butter popcorn as i love it in front of the pc with my music or just when i binge things on the 4k tv. Popcorn gets popped down to a science almost where it comes out perfect and sometimes i add a bit of butter and sugar and shake the bag and its wow. Very good.

I've been doing a bunch of Jello projects, including homemade Jello (gelatin powder) and Protein Jello (why protein gives it a weird texture, but I recently got some clear protein & am working on flavoring it up right). Homemade gummies too, and layered colors at different angles & stuff. If you're looking for supplies, Amazon has all kinds of Jello products, including Jolly Rancher flavors! This is the plain gelatin I use:

As far as frozen desserts go, I'm fortunate to live by a farm & get my fresh heavy cream from them. I have a Cuisinart freezer-bowl ice cream maker & have been working on perfecting various ice cream flavors. I've got the base down (custard-style with eggs, cooked sous-vide). So far I've mastered vanilla, strawberry, cookie dough (microwave the flour + sous-vide the eggs to pasteurize), and a few others. I'm hoping to lock in a really amazing chocolate ice cream this month. I've got the brownie chunks down as well (they stay chewy when frozen!).

I am going to be so fat when all of this is over

My brother recently "borrowed" my Nordic microwave bowl popcorn maker. I replaced it with this, which works equally awesome:

I get FIT-POP popcorn online. 24 pounds of the best popcorn kernels (yellow kernels, in 2-pound or 6-pound packs) money can buy for $42 shipped:

I've got salted, butter, cheesy, kettle, soft caramel, and hard caramel down. Currently working on a legit-quality Moose Munch clone. Progress is slow...but delicious

I got one of those gifted to me, i used the holy hell out of that thing. Only shame was the powder would never stick, made the popcorn very plain. I guess pam and stuff helps make it stick? I ended up usually sprinkling butter on fresh popcorn. I left it with the ex when i left, she prob still uses it. Entire household went crazy for the stuff.

Despite the mess and the trouble i prob prefer my bags still or those big xmas containers with the mix. I am like a mouse with cheese if i get gifted one of those tubs. The cheese disappears then the caramel. Speaking of cheese i am having a insane craving for some string cheese like omg i could eat 20 sticks right now in a single sitting. Chase it down with some nesquick strawberry......

The FIT-POP popcorn is exactly the kind of popcorn I imagine when I want popcorn. But yeah, air-popping it requires the extra step of adding a bonding agent, which requires a paper bag or a bowl to mix it in. I'd suggest starting out with a spray bottle of water, which lets whatever dry spice you add to it stick (popcorn salt, cheese powder, etc.). Some people use oil (with a Misto) or Pam spray.

My buddy has a Whirley-Pop, which does a fantastic job of evenly coating the flavoring in, but it's a bit of a pain to clean, and I'm all about convenience, because if it's easy to use & fairly hands-off (Instant Pot, Sous Vide, microwave popcorn bowl, etc.) then I'll actually use it every day because there's not much mental friction involved. I'm still working on getting down the perfect seasoning system...that will be the topic for a future thread once I figure it out, lol!

Whenever I'm in Vermont, I always get this Cabot cheese powder, the stuff is ridiculously addicting:

Having a nice little system setup sounds a bit much for such a simple snack, but in practice:

1. Fill the silicone popcorn bowl to the line with popcorn
2. Cook for about 2 minutes in my microwave
3. Shake or stir to add flavoring

Nearly as easy as a fold-up packaged popcorn sleeve, but you get an infinite amount of topping options, and better-quality popcorn (for cheaper!) to boot!

I like the idea of popping from a bowl, that sorta bowl has a lid so its not going all over creation? I don't mind cleaning up a bit i guess, could be fun to watch it pop and fly all over the damn place! Gonna maybe look into some popcorn perhaps in May when i go shopping, maybe i could score a few bags of raw stuff to pop into a bowl like you mentioned.

a few months ago I made a jello pie.
