It wasn't all CGI. I saw a featurette that showed a model that they used for shots suspended above Bane's trucks.

Why the hell would you do that?

nolan uses physical props that later get painted over in CGI.

But the tumbler was a legitimately engineered car that could go over a hundred miles an hour.

Batwing obviously cannot fly.

Yeah. I just mean it isn't full CGI. There's a fairly modest prop involved.

Also, the pit was shot in India. Some scenes were shot in UK (Wayne manor). Though, I can't see why all the scenes in the movie were not shot in the U.S.

FWIW I had no problems understanding Bane

a couple of Stargate SG1 people had roles. Teal'c was on of the terrorists that Levitt took out. And William Devane played the president, same as in SG1. Man he's had some challenges during his presidency.

I expected more of a fight from Teal'c

As good as the movie was, I really wish they didn't butcher together the back story of the various characters.

Robin's real name is NOT fucking ROBIN. That's like saying Batman's real name is BATMAN. I get it's a nod to the audience but I feel it's a disservice to the fans. I was expecting to say his real/legal name was Dick Grayson or Jason Todd or something.

I expect that was done for the probably fairly significant portion of the movie going audience that did not know Robin's real name

Here are a few of the holes in the plot (IMO):2. Cops lined up and attacked the bad guys directly with handguns/shotguns? That's suicidal. And most of the cops went down the the tunel? Who brilliant idea was that?

4. Kissing (Catwoman) and talking (Talia while she was dying in the truck) WHILE the clock of the bomb is winding down?
[/SPOILER]

The cops thing was pretty bad. And by pretty bad I mean really really bad.

As for kissing her - yeah wtf was that. You need to go!

Looks fine to me. They should have done a full mask to cover head and hair, not just the face. Agreed on why they didn't include whip and claws. at least in one scene. :\

Not enough ass shots in the movie

Well, it would have been cool.

TDK had all sorts of plausible going on. it is plausible to dive off of a skyscraper and hang glide (you'd need a much larger wingspan than is depicted, but it is still possible).

it is possible to manuver a car and motorcycle the way that it was in the film.

It is patently impossible for a craft like the batwing to actually fly.

Additionally, I don't feel like they really put it to good use the way the tumbler was in the 2nd movie especially.

Good movie but definitely some things I didn't like too much. No cartilage in your knees? Hard to throw a punch if you can't pivot properly. I'd like to think that maybe some time passed and he had surgically repaired knees. He put on the braces as part of rehab or something.

JGL taking over was beause bats is a symbol. Killing him off kind of defeats the purpose though. You're just opening it up to a bunch of copycat batmen like the 2nd movie.

Bane wasn't as bad as the pyro in TF2 but he's definitely muffled and hard to understand in a number of scenes. Even batman sounds kind of bat at some points. I know they said the mask helps him relieve pain but maybe it's the only way he can breathe. Makes more sense than pain meds getting pumped through the veins in your face? The scene where he started tearing up like the forever alone guy made you feel sorry for him. He was friendzoned like crazy. That's why he had to kill bruce at the end. He touched his woman inappropiately. The way he got blasted felt kind of cheap.

Vertebrate protruding through the back made me grimace. That's just a little too hard to believe. If they dialed it back a bit and just said your back is jacked up, you might not walk again or something. Would have been better. Raz scene just felt like a lucid dream sequence to me. Or maybe Liam called upon his Jedi powers for that scene.

Overall I still thought the movie was a good ending to the series. I'm sad to see it end and it'll be hard to picture someone else play batman. I like the idea to keep it fresh though. A Nightwing spinoff could work. I don't really follow the comics but the way the character is portrayed in the movie he just seems too similar to Batman. A really moral guy who's got a lot of personal pain. I thought nightwing left gotham because he was angsty and wanted to get out of batman's shadow.

‘Dark Knight Rises’ Composer Hans Zimmer Records Song For Aurora Victims

The Oscar-winning composer says on his Facebook page that that he recorded the 8:26 minute elegiacal tone poem, titled Aurora, ”as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families.” He’s offering it on Apple’s iTunes store for $1.29, and on Moontoast for as little as 10 cents. Don't you also gotta deal with the Union's, Politics etc.. ?

I bet it's much easier in india, you just grease a person here and a person there, and you'd be set.

Yes you do. Still worth it.

India might be a genuine location requirement (I mean the city in the background can't be found in the US, and Nolan's style isn't CGI), but many other locations (for many movies) are chosen based on tax credits.

Oh and a side note... how is it that in the end that they managed to keep Batmans identity a secret still? Bane practically said his name out loud in front of all his thugs & minions. Wayne Enterprises got ransacked revealing where all his toys came from while being driven all around town.

I mean if the vehicles were army prototypes it should not be hard to figure out they came from wayne enterprises.

Finally saw this movie.

My quick review without much thought put into it:

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS
Bad things:
- Not enough character development for Selina Kyle, among others; too many minor characters with no development imo.
- Healthier Batman can't beat Bane, Batman post-broken vertebra can beat Bane (if only just).
- Scarecrow was unnecessary imo, and kind of stupid.
- A bit of a silly plot at some parts; using all the city's cops in the sewers at once? Really?
- Too much special effects in the ending sequences; CG Batpod parts particularly; too much flying around and avoiding missiles also.
- You don't survive a nuke, I don't care how good your ejection mechanism is (I still gotta look into the way this movie ended, it was weird).
- Nuclear fallout and radiation wasn't an issue.
- It had to come down to the last moments with the bomb, like all movies seem to do.
- Robin? Really? They just had to, didn't they.
- Seemed a bit rushed in parts; some plot holes.
- Music was overly recycled and didn't evolve enough for the this third installment (pending further listening).
- They could have done better with flashbacks and such, especially right before the nuke goes off.

Good things:
- Opening scene was good.
- Opening Batman scene was pure badassery.
- First half of the movie overall was good.

Yea, the good things are vague, but I was just a bit underwhelmed. Hopefully, the movie will grow on me over time, like TDK did. I want to watch it again and really analyze it. I hope my initial thoughts on it change. I dunno if they will.
