I didn't care for Bane, mostly because of his voice. They really screwed up on that---I have tinnitus so sometimes I can't hear certain tones of voices really well and I thought it was just me.

As we we were leaving the movie, my son said "I couldn't understand half of what Bane was saying...", so...I guess it wasn't just me

BTW- the theater near us shows afternoon movies on weekdays for $3. Love that place

One actor reused here and there, sure. It just seemed odd to me to take half the cast from one movie and stick it in another.

Besides, I'm just nitpicking.

just got back from imax. not worth a dime.
some of the dialogue, i couldnt hear.
if you go for action, like others said, its not full action like Avengers...
this movie was more like a drama,,,, but then again, you cant hear the dialogue, which is a problem because a drama is all about dialogue.

Saw it last night in IMAX. The screen stopped working about 5 minutes into the preview and was down for about 10 minutes. Towards the end of the down time, there were a lot of people getting impatient. On a side note, there was a screen just before the movie started advising people to locate the nearest emergency exit. I thought that was odd given what happened in Colorado.

As for the movie itself, it did not disappoint. It was a long movie, but it felt like it flew by thanks to the engaging story. The character of the Joker was better, but overall the story of TDKR was awesome. I generally didn't have any problems understanding Bane and Hathaway was good as well. I loved the way Nolan reached back to the previous movies to pull in story elements

(especially the way Batman indirectly revealed his identity to Gordon)

Overall it was an awesome movie and I would definitely recommend seeing it in IMAX if you can.

Saw it last night, it was fantastic. Also I didn't have much trouble understanding Bane at all. There were maybe 1 or 2 times where a few words were hard to hear, but it wasn't that hard to figure out what was said, especially taking in the context of the scene. And nothing of any importance that he says was hard to understand.

Hathaway as Catwoman was spot on as well.

Also it never says that the Doctor makes Bane's mask. It says that he ends up trying to help him and whatever he does leaves Bane in "constant pain". The movie never actually states where the mask came from.

So ALL of us were in crappy theaters? I could hear everyone else's voice just fine. Just not Bane.

Meh the 4 people I went to the theater with had 0 issues understanding him except for a few words here and there that weren't important in any way.

Good for you, but that still doesn't change the fact that many people couldn't understand him completely (I have pretty damn good hearing and have never had trouble understanding speech in films at this theater in the many years I've been going there).

just came back.. awesome movie.. yeah half the time you can hear bane but everyone else talks fine..

Amazing movie. Probably the best one I've seen since Inception.

I even paid extra to get an 18+ showing.

What's more likely to be true here:

Half of people who watch this movie can't hear or understand Bane while the other half can. This is because people who could hear Bane have excellent hearing.

The people who had trouble hearing Bane were in a theater where the acoustics made hearing Bane difficult.

This isn't some conspiracy. I don't know how many could hear it just fine while many others could not. The only thing I can attribute this to is the theater. How else would you explain it?

i could've sworn in one of the scenes, batman said to bane, "excuse me can you speak up cuz i can't hear a fucking word you just said."

hopefully this shooting doesn't dampen the box office numbers. that would be the real tragedy.
