Ahhh... yes. Luckily there is FAUXnews to come show us the way, pointing out that movie makers don't care about science while also throwing in about 47 unjustified jabs at environmentalism. I'm so glad that the party that runs that station is also running the country.

Actually, it's a reprint from JunkScience.com. Steven Millroy has been spot-on when it comes to bullsh!t like this.

But then, poisoning the wells is always easier than addressing the facts, isn't it?
I don't really understand what your beef with so-called environmentalists is.

So you think we should just not give a sh!t and let it all go to hell, or what? I mean, seriously. I don't understand.

Nice assumption, but of course, it's completely wrong. I have nothing wrong with ecology and have always supported it. I spent many a summer working in CA's national parks on ecology projects as a kid. My problem is with the junk science and completely wacky political leftists that have taken over environmental causes.

Any objective person can look at this movie and see it is shameless hyper-exaggerated propaganda that has no basis whatsoever in fact or science.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound insultive. It was a genuine question, I wasn't assuming anything. I guess I can agree with that, but the only reason they're "wacky" is because they have passion for what they believe in.

I dunno. Did you ever stop to think that maybe someone just thought they had a good story and made a movie?

Do you say the same thing about every doomsday scenario novel out there? Shrug. Maybe there's something about the director and people behind the movie that I don't know, but I don't think its fair to make assumptions that grand about someone elses artistic vision.

Actually after watching a special on Discovery the other day about the astronomical value of the moon in Stabilizing the earths orbit the disasster scenarios are a little more plaussible if the moon were to suddenly disappear tommorow. Now exactly how global warming is going to make the moon dissappear is one of those questions I'm not capable of answering.

Ditto.

Lets say you have a credit card, a Capital One No Hassle Card for example. You have a credit limit of $500 on this card, as you have no credit history. You go to your favorite store(Best Buy, Wal-Mart, whatever...)and, being as they have some particularly good deals on some products, you now have a blance of $500. Generally what the credit card company does is, every two weeks you will get whats called a statment detailing the purchases you made in the last two weeks. You then have a choice to make. Do you pay it off by sending a check for the minimum ammount, incurring a huge interest penalty being as you have no credit history? Or do you pay off the entire thing so that you avoid the interest but ultimately defeat the purpose of having a credit card? The choice is yours....

I hope that answers your question.

gullo!
