I don't really understand what your beef with so-called environmentalists is.Originally posted by: Amused

Ahhh... yes. Luckily there is FAUXnews to come show us the way, pointing out that movie makers don't care about science while also throwing in about 47 unjustified jabs at environmentalism. I'm so glad that the party that runs that station is also running the country.
Actually, it's a reprint from JunkScience.com. Steven Millroy has been spot-on when it comes to bullsh!t like this.
But then, poisoning the wells is always easier than addressing the facts, isn't it?

So you think we should just not give a sh!t and let it all go to hell, or what? I mean, seriously. I don't understand.
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound insultive. It was a genuine question, I wasn't assuming anything. I guess I can agree with that, but the only reason they're "wacky" is because they have passion for what they believe in.Originally posted by: Amused

Nice assumption, but of course, it's completely wrong. I have nothing wrong with ecology and have always supported it. I spent many a summer working in CA's national parks on ecology projects as a kid. My problem is with the junk science and completely wacky political leftists that have taken over environmental causes.
Any objective person can look at this movie and see it is shameless hyper-exaggerated propaganda that has no basis whatsoever in fact or science.

Wait.. so this whole movie is about global warming and some tree hugger group's agenda? BAH! I was just hoping for a movie with lots of special effects and death and destruction.. not a movie that is supposed to teach me a lesson about not driving SUVs and buying stuff with CFCs in them.

Well let me explain it to you this way...
Lets say you have a credit card, a Capital One No Hassle Card for example. You have a credit limit of $500 on this card, as you have no credit history. You go to your favorite store(Best Buy, Wal-Mart, whatever...)and, being as they have some particularly good deals on some products, you now have a blance of $500. Generally what the credit card company does is, every two weeks you will get whats called a statment detailing the purchases you made in the last two weeks. You then have a choice to make. Do you pay it off by sending a check for the minimum ammount, incurring a huge interest penalty being as you have no credit history? Or do you pay off the entire thing so that you avoid the interest but ultimately defeat the purpose of having a credit card? The choice is yours....
I hope that answers your question.
