The day I have been dreading has finally arrived

I've managed to make my single box of trash bags last for a few years now by reusing them.

We hired a landscaper to do a 1-time cleanup when we initially moved in and they left over 50 large bags on the lawn and it has lasted me over 3 years (including through removing bad sod). Good stuff.

finding a stack of heavy-duty garden bags is a joy;

but nothing compared to .. finding the same heavy duty bags .. which ALSO fit exactly your inhouse garbage can. That .. is just HEAVEN!

Intuit used to send out a free demo of Quickbooks that arrived on seven 3.5" disks. My friends and I ordered a bunch of demos and we never had to buy 3.5" disks again -- the format became obsolete before I ever ran out.

I purchased a box of envelopes in 1999 from Costco. I think there must be 2000 of them inside. I have barely used 1/4 of the box! I think this box will last me until I am an old man.

I keep buying boxes because I can never find one when I need it.

Now I have like 3 boxes and I maybe use one every 3 months. Maybe I'll give envelopes to my secret santa!

i worked at a summer camp 7 years ago, at the end of summer there were cases of paper plates left over and no storage room, so i got 2 cases, 2 other people who got 2 cases each asked me to hold their boxes of plates as they were moving into a new place.
well they never picked up their cases. i ended up with them.

i am down to probably 50 plates left. probably will run out soon, then i will have more dishes to wash.

I used them until email took off and became my primary communication tool. Now I use an envelope or 2 a month for random letters...
