It might not be USPF legal, as I might have reversed directions before locking it out. The USPF is ultra strict regarding equipment, and especially lifting technique. As I was training and videoing by myself, my camera angle was less than ideal, and inconclusive IMO.

If anyone with USPF, USAPL, or IPF (the 3 strictest federations in reverse order) personal competitive/judging experience, cares to share their opinions on my lift I would be grateful regardless of any criticism it receives.
IPA, NASA, APF, SLA, or WPO lifters need not respond. WABDL competitors opinions are welcome with a grain of salt - lol...

3650 + 663940 = 667,590.

Legal or not, in the real world, you still locked out a 700lb deadlift. Congrats on a freaking huge lift.

Did this workout which included 7 rounds of max rep 225lb deadlifts in 15 seconds. I did 53 reps total, plus 10 during warm-up. 63 x 225lbs = 14,175.

Today I switched my deadlift stance from standard to semi-sumo. I feel much tighter at the start when my legs are outside my arms, because my legs are long. The lifts felt a little different, involving more posterior chain than before, but I'm a bit more comfortable because back doesn't round at the start. It'll take a few weeks to get used to it, so my weight suffers some.

There's nothing wrong with using the sumo stance and for some people, it'll feel more comfortable/natural (especially taller folks). However, if your back was rounding at the start of the deadlift w/ normal stance, that probably means that either something was wrong with your form or you were lacking the mental cues to keep your back locked in extension.

I'm pretty sure it was mental cues. I just read Rippetoes dead section in SS, and I'm going to give standard another try. The reason I wanted to switch was because I felt "loose" at the start of the standard pull. I kept trying to keep my hips low as possible which ended up turning the pull into an awkward squat. I focused so much on low hip placement that I would sometimes forget the cue to arch the erectors. This effected the start of heavy lifts only (rounding back) which would make me stop the lift. Frustration.

This time I think I won't try to force my hips so low and take a more natural position with conventional style per SS.

So I tried conventional stance today after going over the dead section in SS. I think what I was doing before was raising my hips before the bar moved. This time I had cues for up: "Push," "Drive", and "Lock"; and for down: "Break," "Drop," and "Floor." It helped, but unfortunately, my hands were sweating and in the last two sets the bar started to slip out of my hand.

Today's strength workout: 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 375x5 = 5,250. Also did a metcon workout that included deadlifting 225lbs for 45 reps = 10,125. Total = 15,375.
