Great movie. So many crappy movies out there lately when a movie like this comes along it's a huge relief.

--------------*Spoilers* below (you shouldn't be in this thread anyways if you're worried about spoilers, but i'll warn you anyways ):-------------

They didn't seem like they tried too hard to keep many things secret. Like a guy said above the previews gives something away, I don't like it when they do that. I knew Marky Mark was going to pop out with a gun somewhere in the end since i saw it in the preview. Not a big deal, but it would of been cooler if it was more of a surprise. Also, when Scorsese was on Conan, he said Jack Nicholson gets shot. Again, not a huge deal, but why mention that kinda stuff? Ah well. I still enjoyed the movie just as well, best movie of the year thus far. I don't know if anything will be better this year.

I watched the movie last night (on DLP!!), and I saw the trailer for the first time today. Up until yesterday, I had only seen the TV commercials for it. The trailer doesn't give anything away other than the setup, Leo vs Damon. The movie puts the characters against each other, and the tension and suspense build until the climax. The joy of the movie is the buildup, which no trailer can "spoil". There is nothing in the trailer that gives away the ending either.

Best movie of the year.

Just came back from it.. omg awesome movie. I didn't see any trailers for it and the one commercial I did see didn't give much away. Just a great movie.

The trailer does not give away this movie. The trailer only gives away what is set up in the first 30 minutes of the movie. Guess what, there's another 2 hours after that!

*spoilers* (well, not really spoilers like giving away plot or nothing)

Great movie all around, but was kinda weird, had like a 1930's or so feel to it, with 70's classic rock soundtrack, and 2000's technology. And sometimes I couldn't remember if I was watching a movie... or watching an infomercial for cell phones.

Saw the movie tonight . . . pretty good movie. I thought the accents were pretty lame and seemed to fade in and out, but it didn't spoil the movie. Plus I'm not from Boston, so for all I know they were spot on.

**********SPOILER********

Question. After Martin Sheen's character dies, along with the gang member. Wahlberg's character quits . . . who is left to tell the news that the dead gang member was the undercover cop? I was under the belief that the operation was fairly secretive. Does this mean he actually was another undercover cop?

it compares very well

the main storyline is very similar, but I like the Infernal Affairs ending a bit better than the US ending

Well, that scene kinda confused me too. Frank (Jack N.) told his henchmen to ditch the body in the swamp.... when the body was discovered the news reported it as an undercover cops body was found. Frank (Jack N.) said the news was only reporting it that way to throw him off the trail of who the REAL RAT (Leo C) was. The movie to me never really made clear whether or not that guy in the swamp was a REAL Undercover or what. I believe he was a real undercover cause he gave LEO the WRONG address yet LEO shows up to the right address and never told the other henchmen, but maybe because 1 of 2 reasons:
1) Real undercover cop didn't want to blow Leo's cover
2) Had a grudge agains Frank and wanted Frank to go down.

Dont know, maybe someone else can explain better.

Overall, the movie was excellent...

Or #3, he died before he could tell them since he never put it together until right before he died.

Yea, that is what happened...it was like that in the original too.

This was a great movie...it stayed true to the original, and a lot of the best scenes were straight from IA, and even some of the dialogue.

I must say, the whole twist/new dimension with Wahlberg's character is pretty cool.
