As everyone knows, the backdrop is that CNN had accurately reported that Trump and Obama had been briefed by James Clapper about allegations of Trump being blackmailed by the the Russian government, and allegations of collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin. CNN correctly pointed out, several times, that the information was unvetted and unverified, and did not go into detail about them, not even mentioning the now infamous "golden showers" allegation. Trump, in a press conference, proceeded to berate CNN for its accurate reporting, refusing to take a question from a CNN journalist, and labeling CNN "fake news."
In this discussion, Anderson Cooper repeatedly presses Conway to explain what about CNN's reporting was inaccurate. Because the truth is that CNN's reporting was 100% accurate, Conway proceeded to tell a series of lies to justify Trump's accusation against CNN.
First, she tried to claim that perhaps Trump and Obama were never in fact briefed about these allegations. Yet Biden and Clapper came out publicly afterward and confirmed that they had all been briefed, and Trump himself never even denied this. Conway knew that Trump had been briefed because Trump would never have sent her on national television to be his propagandist on this topic without telling her this. This was a lie.
Second, she repeatedly claimed that CNN had linked the full 35 page report that Buzzfeed had posted online. They had not. No link or screenshot has ever been produced to show that CNN linked to this report.
Third, she claimed that other news networks were not supporting CNN on this. Yet all the other major national news networks, including FoxNews, came out in support of CNN.
That's three bald faced lies in one interview from one surrogate.
You know, someone should assemble all these clips in a 20 minute salute, maybe to a benny hill theme, put it all social media and a 100 million usb sticks and drop em over the rustbelt and mid west. The people has a right to know from a source different that fox.
