?The literal English meaning would be [5] He manages and regulates (every) affair from the heavens to the earth; then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present world's time).

This translation is bunk. My (as an Arabic speaker) literal translation of the end of that verse would be "its measure which would be 1000 years of your COUNTING." The word used literally means, your count, counting, how much you count, your value, etc.

You can't expect a one sentence interpretation of something that wasn't written in English to be accurate or cover the whole verse.
