Is it safe to assume they will send an email when replacement Asus P8P67 Pros are available since that is what I bought from them? The first email said they'd send a message when they had replacements which it looks like they are getting now. From Engineer's edit it looks like they are sending notifications when your specific model is in-stock.
hmmm...one of those biostar boards is the one that i purchased. Not sure if this is the b3 stepping but i would assume so. Might call them tomorrow to see if i can get the ball rolling on an exchange.
Edit: Received an e-mail tonight to set up the exchange. Had 3 options (regular rma, advanced rma (credit card required), not interested). I chose advanced assuming that they pat for the return shipping. If they do not, i'll do a regular rma (they do state that they pay shipping for that one but no mention in the advanced rma section).
Edit #2: Advanced rma set up, new board shipping via next day air (free) and ups return label sent. Can't beat newegg service !
Prices could go down in a month or two, but the Biostar boards probably won't get much cheaper, if at all ..
It really pisses me off how there is a problem with the chipset. They pull it, and then re-release it with all sorts of fanfare and a hurry to get then. So they jack the prices up past what they were before they pulled them. Screw them, Ill wait.
Are these prices higher than when they got pulled? I'll wait a month or two, they arent price gouging me.
From what I can tell, the Newegg prices are what they were before. There were a few discounts (rebates, $10 price drop, etc) that are not showing up right now but the prices are about what they were (pre-rebate/discount) that they were before.
I'm fighting hard to not buy one of the boards up now. I really was locked in to a asrock extreme 4.
