What a steal!

Received my RMA Biostar board today. Includes a new, shiny red sticker with the B3 stepping on it. Finally will build my system sometime this weekend.
So who are you really mad at, newegg or intel? You say "they" and "them" but the company that had the bug isn't the one who upped the price. It sounds like you're lumping them into one group which is quite ignorant. Intel had a bug, but they found it quick and allowed a quicker turnaround on the problem than expected. Newegg pulled boards immediately when they could have sold the rest of the faulty ones, but now they've set the price higher. Again... NEWEGG set their own price. It's hard to be too mad at intel, and you can't really blame the board makers for anything. They got shafted in this whole thing too.
Not Intel, good job on them recalling. And what seems shipping replacements out quickly.
I am however upset at newegg and other online stores. And newegg is charged more than they did, upon more research. So have several other online stores. Why? Because they know there is a buzz and people want them badly. I will not participate in price gouging. I hope that answers your question. Ill just sit back and wait, not in any real hurry.

Bah, B3. Should have gone with a G0.
I wonder how many people actually get that joke. I guess if you have a q6600 in your sig you do .
Well, I was going to buy the ASRock Extreme 4 but I think I'll just get the MSI P67A-GD65 now that it's back in stock. I've been relatively patient but now that it's the only thing holding this build back I don't think I can wait any more.

You guys act like SandyBridge is a glass of water when you're dying of heat exhaustion in a desert. Its a freakin computer - you probably already have one that is way better than the 2005 Dell I had been hanging onto until I got my 2600K. I like how people get obsessed over stuff and then every minute they must wait seems like days or weeks. (Full disclosure - I've done this too from time to time in my life......)
And you guys wonder why the retailers might be able to jack up the prices a little......well people like Gorcorps are your answer......."awww danggit, just give me a MOTHERBOARD....ANY MOTHERBOARD WILL DO.....I just can't wait any longer!!!!!!"
Funny stuff. But easy for me to say as I type away on my 2600K cruising effortlessly at 4.2ghz running just a smidge above stock voltage.......
I though they would base the bios of these new B3 boards on the latest release from the 1.0 revision boards. Not go back to the initial release.
A couple things:
- I haven't had a desktop computer in 5ish years and even that one was old when I finally gave up. This is my first build in a very long time so yeah... I'm a little anxious.
- You're acting like these MSI boards are the bottom of the motherboard barrel and that we're sacrificing something by jumping now. They are quite good from what I read and there doesn't appear to be a reason to pick another brand over it other than taste. Again, since I haven't had a build in so long I have no preference so I'll take whatever fits my needs and doesn't have awful reviews. For all I know by waiting for ASRock I could be getting a worse board. I'll never know though as I'll never use both (and I doubt other people will either, so it's hard to say which would be better)
MSI has beaten the other manufacturers by a week or so now (and time keeps ticking). That says something about they're adaptability and ability to get things done. But again, I can't say one way or the other and I'll probably never know. I might wait another day or 2 but in that time I'll have every other part needed. Seems silly to wait on basically a HUNCH of mine that the Extreme 4 would be a better (or slightly cheaper) board.
edit: and possibly the most important point, if I order today I can get it by the weekend
No they don't. They may be listed as "special order", but wait... there's more... "IMPORTANT: Please be aware that special order items can take as long as 3 to 4 weeks to be delivered". In other words "we don't actually have any in stock, but we might be able to get you one... sometime... maybe... perhaps".provantage has most all the gigabyte and msi boards

This just reminded me why I have never ever bought anything from Provantage. Yet another waste of good cyber space.
Look I understand....and I'm not saying MSI is a bad board. I think you're rationalization is taking on new levels if you're going to infer that MSI is a "better" OEM manufacturer because their boards came a week earlier, therefore they are "adaptable" and can "get things done". I could just as easily make a statement like "that says something about their attention to detail and willingness to rush their product out quickly rather than take the time to build it right and ensure the proper testing and quality control". Both statements are probably meaningless. Maybe MSI paid to have a few loads shipped over by 747 instead of boat? Who knows. Who cares?
If you truly could care less which mobo you buy for the next 5 years, then your analysis is correct. But if there was some reason, more than a dartboard, why you selected one specific board to buy.....and now you're changing plans because you're not sure if you can wait a minute longer.....well......
if all the boards, ASRock, Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, Biostar were available today on Newegg, would you buy the MSI? Because it is only a matter of time before all the boards WILL be available on Newegg..........
