I wish it ran in windows. I had this when it first came out, still have the book for it. But the engine and graphics are giving me some pause over trying it again. As well as the Dosbox instructions.

What a F'in huge and awesome game! The world map on ES is probably the largest in the history of CRPGS.

Edit.. LOL per Wikipedia - Daggerfall 750,000 NPCS, Morrowind and Oblivion ~1000 each.

Granted Daggerfall can be a little more repetitive, I think it's worth it to have such a large game world. I'm tired of game worlds I can run across in like 2 hours. That makes each game world like 14 miles across, not very epic...

Great, great game, even with the bugs. I can still remember walking into the first major city and being amazed at all the people walking about, minding their own business.

The manual says use DOSBox for XP/Vista and shows you what to do.

Heh, I played this through twice back in the day, and yeah it was buggy as hell. My favorites were when you'd be walking along and suddenly an NPC would be added to your party, announce the reasons for their departure, and then disappear. I also remember the assassins that would attack in the cities. After I got flight I used to soar in and land on the rooftops, then dump that comet spell on them all.

Ok, I have tried dowloading this game 4 times now, and each time it only downloads a portion of the game before it stops. I may be drunk because it is my birthday and I went out and celebrated it, but I can't figure out a way to start a download of this and have it actually finish. Is there any way you can susgest for me?

I found this version of Daggerfall up on Fileshack after having the same sort of difficulties downloading via Betheseda. Having some serious difficulties getting it to play nice in dosbox. Everything is there for the first two rooms, but my character can't actually attack or defend, so the giant rat gets me every time...

Awesome, thanks. I don't have a Fileshack account, and didn't feel like creating one, so I chose a free download capped at 500 KbPS and I got the file at 1.5 MbPS .
