That masterpass discount has restrictions. Doesn't work with any bundled bonus items. Chatted with newegg rep to to remove the "Free USD $150 In-Game Bonus w/ purchase" offer on the shorter/quieter (1 big fan) GIGABYTE GV-N750OC-1GI card but they said they couldn't split it off and to select a different card without a bundle.

For anyone subscribed to this thread Virtual Larry found the PNY Gt 730 GDDR5 for $42 AR AC free shipping:

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2429219

P.S. I own this exact card and so far have been pleased with its performance on my Windows 7 Xeon E5440 (LGA 771 to LGA 775 mod) Dell Optiplex 360. (I'm also testing its decode performance for receiving streamed Steam games on a Linux Mint 17.1 computer. So far (on a wired network) I have been very happy with the performance, but I have mainly just tested Skyrim with mods enabled through Steam workshop and Nexus mod manager @ 1280 x 1024* high settings. For a cheaper H.264 decode card something like the GT 630 should work just as well)

*I would test 1080p for receiving streamed Steam games, but so far I only have the following monitors available: One 1080p and three 1280 x 1024 monitors. For 1080p streaming I would need the host computer to also be hooked up to a 1080p monitor. (Having 3840 x 1024 Nvidia Surround enabled on the host computer didn't allow me to do that).

For the next three days 20% off makes this $64 GeForce GT 730 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-

Just a heads up, this video card is NOT 128bit. I just bought one. If you go to the Newegg product page and scroll down to the bottom, you can click on the link that takes you to the Gigabyte website product page. It clearly states that this card is a 64bit card. I'm annoyed. I'll wait and see what the box says when the card gets here and then I'll contact Newegg if necessary. I *might* have just spent $20 more than the PNY card in order to get 2GB vs 1GB. Obviously the cooler on this one is better than the PNY. But, it is a full height card compared to a half height. Also, I happen to dislike PNY and like Gigabyte. So, there are pros and cons to each, I just don't think the benefits would add up to over $20 if the bus is still just 64bit.

Looks like NewEgg screwed up. I will most likely still be happy with the card, but maybe the Egg should send us a little something anyway. I like the full height card with the big fan because it should be quieter. Have not gotten mine yet either. NewEgg is my primary site for parts and they have always treated me nice.
Update: Got the card today and it is marked 64bit. Will install it tomorrow and see how it does.

Update 2: Installed to an older HP i3 box running Win7 64 with no problems. Stock OEM power supply does the job. Did not use the included driver CD, just
got the drivers from the internet. Ran the Windows Experience Index and get a 7.0 for both graphics categories. Showing GPU temp of 28C. Quiet. Colors and fonts look good. (Hooked up to an older business monitor using VGA cable for now.) Not a gamer so I can't comment on that.

GeForce GT 720 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 is on today's Shell shocker 6:00PM CDT... currently priced at $52, I am guessing it will be $40 shipped or lower?

My guess is that it would be $30. (That was what the last GT 720 shell shocker went for).

Yep, $30, according to the email alert.

(PS: Shell shockers are on Pacific, not Central, time.)

The 64-bit DDR3 GT720 deal is disappointing. I was hoping it would be $20-25.

I picked up a number of GT630 64-bit DDR3 with Kepler 384SP GPUs for $35 ea., not even on SS, in the past.

The best bet for a low price video card with high performance is to buy used. I bought an R9 270X 2GB card for $90 from these forums. If you don't need that kind of performance, then you can pick up soemthing for a lot less. For example, this GTS 450 is much faster than the GT 730 listed above, for around half the price (and it also has GDDR5 memory).

I've never had a problem with used cards, and you get much better bang for buck.

I have 3 kids with computers, and all of their friends have computers, and low budgets, so I'm always trying to find a good deal on video cards. There are a lot of factors (budget, what PSU they have, case ventilation, what games they need to play, etc..) but I have a system for getting them a card for their needs. Most of the time, they just need something that will play Minecraft decently, and the minimum I've found for that is something with the performance level of a 9400GT. If they play fps games, then they need something a little better.

I use the passmark website to get a general idea of the performance for various vidoe cards. It's just one benchmark, but it's the best thing I've found to look up ANY cards performance:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

I keep an excel spreadsheet with values from common cards, especially cards that are usually a good price on Ebay. Here is a basic list of crads, and their scores:

AMD cards:

R9 270X 4518
HD 7770 2151
HD 5830 2060
HD 5770 1684
R7 250 1412
HD 4770 1067
HD 4850 1034
HD 4830 965
R7 240 960
HD 6450 288
HD 5450 215
HD 6350 216

NVidia cards:
560 Ti 3545
650 Ti 2682
GTX 460 2654
550 Ti 1922
GTS 450 1550
GT 730 926
GT 720 768
GT 430 649
9400 GT 197

Then I look up the cards on Ebay and see what I can get. For a minecraft system, you need at least a score of 200, so the shellshocker GT 720 deal for $30 would be an awesome deal. Problem is, you can't always get a good deal when you need it.

I typically can find GTX 460 cards for around $45, which is really good bang for buck. At the really low price range, you can often get the HD 4850 for $15-$20 dollars (the last one I bought was $12 shipped). For $100, the R9 270 is really good.

Someone offered me a used R9 290 for $100 a few days ago, as I need a card for a system a friend is gifting to me. After some funding hesitation, I was about to go for it. Sounded like a great deal...

Then another person offered me a GTX 460 if I only paid shipping. The card was sitting around, unused, so he just wanted it gone...didn't care about the value. Win! My point is there's good deals out there if you talk to the right person.
