Gmail is infested with spam, never had more spam in all the accounts in the years I've been on the internet. I'm abandoning my gmail and advise people not to bother with it. It isn't better than anything else.

I started seeing a lot of people complain of spam in gmail, but I didn't think I had gotten any. I had been checking with an email client instead of visiting the site. Well, I visited the other day to have a huge spam folder. Seems spam is hitting gmail harder than anything. They don't have proper protection against it. And a spam filter isn't proper protection. You still get the email.

I get about 4 spams per gmail account per day. Not sure how they got my address, as I only have one person on my contact list. Maybe it is through inviting other people in this forum. Maybe it is just someone going down the alphabet... It is pretty good though - For Hotmail, I got a spam five minutes after signing up. For Gmail, it took several months before my first spam (coincidentally, with the arrival of the junk mail box).
