Starcraft gave me that feeling. It doesn't feel the same as when you first played it. But before it was fun build a bunch of guys and listen to the great voice acting and images and sounds and music. Now it's like I am just focused on beating the crap out of everyone on bnet .

When I was 15 I had that with gemstone 3 which was just a text based game. I would actually wake up at 8am to play it, that's well before the crack of dawn in my world.

It doesn't help when Sony decided to add 'get anywhere fast' ports to EverQuest.

Now the huge awesome game you thought it was isn't as huge as it was anymore. Of course no one likes to spend an hour running to a group, but I think they over did it a bit.

For me that's actually Wow, since i'm so new to the genre. Played for about 6 months, met some great people and had a lot of fun.

I too miss the EQ of old. There was nothing quite like trying to sneak through enemy territory in the hopes of meeting your friends in a far away dungeon. There were so many friends to make, so many enemies to battle, so many quests to discover, so many places to explore. But all the expansions and new equipment and higher levels have just ruined the game. Its not fun anymore. All the old dungeons and zones are empty. There is no more sense of excitement or danger in the world. Why bother running through the Karanas dodging griffins and hill giants when you can click on a book and teleport there in 5 seconds?

There are hundreds of people on Sony's forums asking for a classic EQ server without any of the expansions, but so far the only reply has been a "no".

I would love to see a classic EQ server, but it woudln't be the same still, as you know every dungeon by heart, you know where to level, etc.

A server that is classic, and adds the expansion every year (except maybe everything after Velious). I loved Kunark and velious stuff, and didn't get enough, as I started later.

There was Starcraft for me first(and I still play hours of it every week...can't get enough). Before that was Total Annihilation(i would like a copy but don't know where the hell to get one).

Then there was FFXI, which I played probably for a solid 6 months or so. Went to college, and couldn't afford the monthly payment. I can now, I just have to find the urge to get back on. Went to GuildWars(free), and I enjoy it. Something to do really. I can say I had the most intense feeling with Starcraft and FFXI. GuildWars sparked it again but hasn't stayed.

Just...not time really with school, work, and studying. If I had time, I would do FFXI, Guildwars, Starcraft daily.

You can get TA on ebay for about $10 shipped I believe. Great game. I'm glad I burned myself copies before I got rid of mine.

Really, its true, I havent had the 'Wow' feeling when I played DAOC for the first time. Played FFXI/EQ2/WOW/EnB. Just wasn't the same.

BS, it's that game quality has gone down as MMORPGs have become a business and gotten targeted at the masses.
