I have to agree with the hidden fees BS. Signed up for DirecTV primarily due to Sunday Ticket (NFL). Seemed to suggest I'd be at under $50 a month for basic HD programming.
Now, 4 months later, I'm paying $81.92. I was under the impression that I'd be paying roughly $600 per year for all sorts of programming vs. just getting Sunday Ticket on the PS3 via the Internet for $299. Now that figure is much closer to 1000 per year. And half of the shit on there isn't worth watching.
I've told myself prior that it just wasn't worth $80+ a month, so I canceled and did the netflix/hulu/ota thing and was pretty happy. But when I saw that I could get it for roughly $50 a month with Sunday Ticket included, I happily signed up. Now, I'm less than thrilled with the extra shit they're adding onto my bill.
I'm sure calling will have no net effect, but what can you do.
Call them. I have found DirecTV to be AWESOME customer service side. They have always given us free stuff or upgrades. They will lick your balls to keep you as a customer.
I am still going to cancel it when my contract is up and go full streaming however. Save a butt ton of money. We already have free home phone. I did the math.
To buy amazon prime, hulu plus, netflix and blockbuster is way cheaper per month than Dirtectv
Whatever I cant get from those Ill stream direct from the internet. And alot of cable channels also stream from the site so primetime stuff is free streaming as well.
F big cable companies. I wish they would all diaf
