haha how about naming someone not on the radio or in a club. Rather someone with actual talent not just commercial success. If you are talking about most successful or sold out then these names could come up.
Common, tribe, nas, blackstar (talib and mosdef), and real stuff eminem put out before becoming a pop star,
what is artistic tallent worth if its not popular (i.e. not many people like it) academics are probably your heart throbs on that basis.
then this is a different list. That bs is not talent, its garbage made to be played in clubs to make money. Hip hop is supposed to be about intelligent lyrics and rhyming skill. Not talkin about ho's and crystal.
I couldnt have put it better myself. Thank god someone else sees it my way.

White people are obsessed with being 'gangster' so they all LOVE tupac. Black people are more apt to like biggie more as he was rapping about social conditions and a lifestyle and coming up poor. where as tupac was more 'oh I'm a gangster..killing people etc etc'

why do you have to be black to debate music that everyone can hear? What makes a black person from the "hood" more adept to debating the issue.

biggie is good, but 2Pac is the absolute best. 2Pac has so many great songs.. I have 250 of his now in my collection.. 2Pac has at least 12 full discs out.. Biggie has 5?
More doesnt always mean better
