A worthwhile hobby for those into it

Didn't say it wasn't worthwhile,I used to do a fair amount of crunching for the team,just that these days the only crunching that matters involves abs not cpu's

I've been doing SETI@Home for over 4 1/2 years. SETI@Home is not a sport - no distributed computing project is a sport. A sport has to involve athletic abilty and runng the SETI project on a computer takes no athletic ability whatsoever.

I see your point about being on a distributed computing team and cheering" for it being "geeky" but what's the harm in that? Why be negative? If you want to participate join in. If not, then that's your choice as well. To me it does no good bashing a hobby someone else chooses to do.

In the end we're only promoting the AnandTech website. That's why I joined up in the first place - to give something back.
