I know you're happy to kill the planet in the name of short-term income, but all good people are not. I'll be glad when the Trump regime is out of power and we can get back to making you switch to a career in renewable energy.

lulz.... gas production in this country has allowed it to drop its CO2 emissions to 1990 levels by displacing coal. also reducing many, much more harmful emissions. gas production has also allowed us to enjoy low home heating and low electricity costs compared to most of the world. Gas production by fracking and horizontal drilling is less water, emissions, and land intensive than conventional vertical oil and gas drilling. still no studies by reputably agencies that show increased health effects. In fact, in CO weld county has a much lower incidence of cancer with thousands and oil and gas wells and many rigs working than counties with 0 oil and gas production.

even more.. it will be a huge hit to the Colorado economy. the 2500 foot is a defacto ban on drilling in the state and was not arrived at by some scientific process, but by how much land it would cover. I would support further setbacks only if they are enforced on developers as well, you can build a house on top of an oil well and then hold the oil company responsible for problems... tell me how that makes sense.

I am far from a trump supporter.

ill keep killing the planet by reducing global emissions and supplying the energy that supports your standard of living while you dream about doing something useful.

oh, we have solar in process ( had it on the last house), an EV and a very efficient home by our design. what are you doing to help?

Natural gas is better than coal, but it's still a finite resource that contributes to global warming. Fracking still does environmental damage, and gas production still creates more CO2 emissions than is acceptable. And I noticed that you mentioned defending oil in addition to gas... you know that oil has none of those earlier excuses, don't you?

I'm glad you're not a Trump supporter, but you do realize that oil and gas must go away as quickly as realistically possible, right? That we can't twiddle our thumbs on renewable energy when there's a very real chance we're approaching a tipping point for climate change that we can't reverse? Your defense illustrates the problem -- that people are so obsessed with job security that they'd vote against the long-term welfare of the Earth just to ensure a comfy retirement.

I'm doing a whole bunch to reduce my personal energy use and emissions output, thanks. I don't drive, I use energy-efficient devices whenever possible, and I choose to extend the life of most things rather than replace them on a whim. My energy bill is usually a fraction of what others in my area typically pay. I appreciate what you're doing, but there's a tremendous self-contradiction when you try to achieve zero emissions at home but gleefully support emissions at work.

oil companies and certainly service companies like the one i work for don't create the demand for their products, society does. the only time we will ever make progress is when society realizes that the demand is the problem, not the supply.

Voted last week, early voting was very easy, here in FL it's NUTS I tell 'ya!. I forgot to check the mail since last Fri, just went and got it, must have been a full pound of political advert's (including one from the local GOP office, the one that got shot to hell last week) offering a free trip to the polls. Since I've already voted for Gillum maybe I can call them and have them take me, then sneak around back after nabbing some coffee and have them waste an hour of their time!.

Increased CAFE standards are one way to address demand. Which is why the energy lobby hates it. They want to sell more gas in 2027, not less.

I guess I came from a different era or different generation. You get your license to drive at 16. You register to vote at 18. So I ask who is not registered to vote here?

That is a good question. I wonder if anyone on this forum personally had their registration revoked/purged in a state where Republicans systematically purged voter rolls in an attempt to limit voting. A lot of states are permanently registered but lately with all this "clean up" to prevent fraud, there are plenty of people who are no longer registered.

I early voted today and the guy checking IDs didn't like my signature match from 10 years ago. That seems like a really bad check considering he had a valid drivers license with my picture and address.

I already posted we voted early a few weeks ago, nothing left to do today.

All we're doing today is eating pizza and watching election results. I woke up early to make pizza dough. Friends of ours got some artisan frozen pizza pita bread from a relative working in some high end restaurant. I'm curious to see how my home made pizza dough compares to the high end restaurant one

Voted straight democratic ticket this morning with the exception of governor, for which I voted for ‘working subway’.

Edit: oh and I voted against my local IDC member because fuck that guy.

Just voted for Dems, except I went with the Republican Candidate who didn't vote for nor supports Trump's bull. Gun rights supporter but didn't take NRA money. Cuomo hates and lied about him like Trump does about... well everyone he doesn't like.

Feeling pretty good about my choices

There's timing for ya.

The Emperor is too powerful to lose but I gave it a shot.

Yes, he will skate to victory but at least I wasn’t a part of it.

It’s the same with Trump. Our literal democracy hangs in the balance today. I know my vote makes no difference but whatever happens in the future at least if people ask I can say I did my tiny part to stop it.

Voted for dems except for Cuomo as well. Didn't vote R on that though, wasted my vote on Sharpe but couldn't vote for the main party candidates.

Sorry, but I don't care for bailing out MTA.

As far as I’m concerned you don’t need to bail out the MTA. Just give control back to the city and give back the tax money the city pays the state for it. Problem solved.

The main issue is that the MTA is run by people who don’t use it so there is an incentive to fund it inadequately and administer it incompetently. I want to hold the incompetent management accountable but I can’t because the managers are elected by people who don’t care about it.

I just voted this morning before we opened our shop. Longer lines this year, but not long waiting in line. Voted straight Dem. for the first time in my life..except for voting to NOT retain a couple of judges the bar associations found "not recommended" or "not qualified.

I wish I had been able to learn what the school board candidates stood for. But I couldn't, so I left those blank.

Voted straight R except for one judge who's a friend and not too liberal.

Voted no to being annexed.

This is like your second or third time in this thread telling us you voted, haha. We are all very happy that you're so excited about it!

Early voted, passed two polling stations that were surprisingly empty

Voted at 6:30, half hour after opening and the parking lot was full with people in the grass. About 100 people in line. Took 35 minutes (with 12 voting machines). I've voted at the same place for 20 years and don't recall ANY election having so many people there at once. It could be a morning rush and far fewer people during the day. Time will tell.

Another polling station I passed at 7:15 had the lot full and two rows of cars in the grass.

Daughter's boss waited 1.5 hours to vote.

Poll worker, who had worked the polls for 30 years, stated that she had never seen it like this.

Anecdotal I know but FYI regardless.

Well he did say he was going to commit voter fraud and cast his ballot multiple times.

Voted yesterday. A straight Democratic ticket. Time to restore some sanity to our national politics.
