No one cares about the people on this forum voting. Seriously. I feel comfortable here saying the majority of individuals here are above average in intelligence and self reliance (as much as that seems doubtful at some times).

Tbe only thing that matters are the massive number of mindless drones with the likes that watch prime time mainstream local news media that barely even know what politics are. The question is if they will show up.

The mindset matters as it spreads to other people.

Plan to vote this Friday, since I'll be in Florida for a business trip on election day. Have been checking my registration every few days over the past few months in case of a purge, but so far I'm still registered and good to go.

Was that sarcasm or were you just testing the waters of stupidity?

You vote precisely to enable the change you are talking about. Sure your voice my not account for much but remaining silent and not voting guarantees your voice will remain silent.

I DO VOTE YOU FUCKING DICK BRAIN!

NOTHING EVER GETS ANY FUCKING BETTER!

Oregon is sending out ballots tomorrow, so I should have mine by this weekend. Then I'll probably drop it in the mail Monday.

I've mentioned before that local race is getting awfully close in my previously very red district. GOP must be getting nervous because in today's Tuesday Mailers I got one ad for Democrat, as for republican side I got not one, not two, not three, but FOUR ads for local republicans. Funnily you could tell who the ad is for simply by looking at the "paid by" label - the democratic mailers are always paid by democratic committee, while republican ones are always paid by some "independent PAC", or "Realtor's PAC", or some other bullshit.

I glanced through the republican mailers out of curiosity and one of them featured such gem as promising to lower property taxes while at the same time pushing for better more local school funding. Huh? In our county schools are funded primarily if not entirely through property taxes. You can't lower property taxes and provide better funding for schools. Plus it doesn't get any more local than property taxes. Like, WTF? I wonder who falls for this kind of crap?

The same people who believe Mnuchin when he says the recent tax cuts will pay for themselves.

You can only control yourself and not others. After an election you ask yourself 'What did I do?" If you voted, good job. If you tried to engage others so that they exercise their opinion, better job.
If you lost and redouble your efforts to explain your positions so that others understand where you are coming from. best job! If you throw your hands in the air and say "It just doesn't matter." You are wrong. Just look at how you feel for proof.

Yesterday I realized that the Governor is up for reelection. His reelection is such a foregone conclusion that there has been almost nothing about it in the paper and no yard signs, etc. The guy's a putz but I don't see any chance of him losing.

Done. Voted this morning. When we came in an hour and a half after opening there were 10 or so people filling ballots in the booths, and there were about 15 people ahead of us in line, place was busy, took 10-20 minutes to get the ballot. It was mostly elderly folks, a few middle aged guys, and one college student probably voting for the first time. Really wished to see more younger people, but there were practically none...

All we're doing on November 6th now is baking pizzas with friends and watching election results come in.

I just went to early vote today thinking there would be no lines and boy was I wrong. I'll try again later this week, but the turnout was impressive and a good sign for the blue wave. At this particular location I am literally the only white person there.

Similar story with me though there were probably 60 people ahead of me and they were almost all old and white. I think I saw three people in line who could pass for 35 or younger. If this is how enthusiastic the left is in Texas then Beto is completely fucked. I voted the first morning of early voting at the same polling place in the 2016 elections and the crowd was much more diverse and much more representative of the area.

One hour at one polling place on one day of early voting is representative of nothing. Don't buy in to negativity.

Just voted today...took less than 20 minutes, even with heavy volume at the regional library branch (a well-oiled machine...even in the parking lot.) They had some stats posted that showed ~21,000 early votes cast in my county alone...that's at 5 polling places that have been open since Wednesday. Decent turnout for a midterm, not sure it's near a record yet.

A lot of states with early voting have reported record high turnouts for a midterm election, that usually spells bad news for Republicans.

Ballots finally showed up. Will be sitting down and using my black pen. Finally, get to vote for a real Democrat for my legislative district. Crazy open primaries.

Apparently Houston had massive lines for early voting... and not surprisingly, they were for O'Rourke.

Now, the question is whether or not these early voters will be reflective of the voting on November 6th, but it is a promising sign.
