watched this last night. thought it was just ok. felt way too long and just dragged on and on towards the end. i also had trouble understanding some of the characters at points.

i really had no idea what this movie was about prior to seeing it, other than it was getting major hype. definitely overhyped IMO.

I really liked the books, couldn't put them down. Glad I read them before seeing the movies.

I thought the swedish movies were OK, meh.

I didn't really care about the whole mystery in the story nor did I find any of the characters particularly interesting. I had no reason to give a shit if they got to the bottom of the missing person or not.

Because she was deemed incompetent by the state and therefore was not allowed to have access to her own finances. After she was raped and then reraped her rapist she had him submit the proper reports to have her deemed competent or at least make him not have a major role in her receiving her money.

She was under guardianship originally, and her new guardian (nils bjurman) abused her in order to release money from her job's earnings. It was only later that she hacked wennerstrom's(sp?) mob-connected accounts for $2b, which she needed to borrow money from blomkvist for clothes, flights, etc. to pull off.

How much of the money that she transferred to all those accounts did she actually get? Millions? Because by the way it sounded, she did it just to set up that Wennerstrom guy which is why he was murdered. But you know she got something since she repaid Mikhail back the money he loaned her and then she went and bought that expensive leather jacket she was going to give to him for Christmas but threw it in the garbage instead when she saw him with that other editor woman.

in the last book of the trilogy it has her talking with her money manager who invests it all. read the books, they are interesting and give all the details
