I'm thinking the answers in the poll are sort of in order of skill... we'll see how this turns out.

So far I've gone putt putt and went to the driving range. I'm not consistent enough to actually go on a course yet (though I'll never know unless I try).

same goes for me. i play 2-3 times a week during the season. i'm improving but i still have never broken 80. only shot 80/81 a couple times.

AT has quite a few decent players AFAIK. Patt, GagHalfrunt, purbeast0, junkerman123 to name a few.

I play 3-4 times a week, and seem to be improving every year. Consistently beginning to break 80, with low scores of 72 this past year. The clubs are hibernating right now, and won't be broken back out until late April, early May depending on when the snow melts

I've come close to that (5 cm) ... and named my cat in the hopes that I'll one day celebrate that occasion ... Alby.

In season, I usually play 18 holes atleast once every 2 weeks, sometimes more often.

I've played golf plenty of times. Done 18 holes a few times but I'm not very good at it.

Haven't played in years actually.

Edit-I'd rather ride 40-50 miles or go surfing.

Played a ton when I was younger, not so much any more maybe 3 times a year but I can still break 80 on a regular basis (not bad for a 48yr old that plays 2-3 time a year)

Started at 10, played 4yrs in HS, 4yrs in college, and 18mos on the Nike tour and worked at a proshop at a country club for 7yrs durring HS/college.

About a 14-15 handicap last season. Driver and irons feel good, but my putter was inconsistent and my wedge has deserted me all together...

An observation from years of hanging around golf courses: The vast majority of people spend too much time hitting Drivers and long clubs on the range, and not enough time on the putting green and short range.

The old adage "Drive for show, Putt for dough" is no joke, you can knock more strokes off your game with improved chipping, putting and wedge play than anywhere else. I can't tell you how many times I've seen older guys who bunted their tee shots 180-200yds but where great shortgame players PWN young college players that smash the ball 325yds but where clumbsy around the greens.

Me too, played all 4 years of HS, but I find it much more enjoyable now being able to just go out drink some beer and have some fun. I can still shoot in the low 80's consistently. However, if we go out on the weekend with everyone and their mother, I have a tendency to drink more and really not give a sh!t

I totally agree and usually it's not the case, but last year my short game fell apart for some reason and it cost me about 2-4 strokes per round...

BTW...at the range I hit 2/3+ of my bucket from 125 yds and in...

I play golf about 5 to 10 times a year and really enjoy it. I'm slowly improving but my scores are still in the horrible range.

I just started last year. Father in law brought his "old" clubs from Japan and gave them to me. (Mizuno Pro tour BIG graphite irons and a Callaway ERC II Ti Driver!)
He then proceeded to buy himself a complete new set here and took that to Japan as an upgrade for himself! (Callaway 460 Ti Driver and X-18 Iron set + hybrid/utility)

I'll be taking lessons this spring and *will* play a lot!

Too bad we have so much rain up here now in Seattle or I'd be playing now. 25+ days of rain! It's a little wet...

Just got to play in Thailand with a caddy which was pretty sweet. Hot Humid weather can really wear you down though.
