Two different types for me:

Chili cheese or mustard/ketchup/onions/relish

Mustard - Yes (always)
Relish - ONLY if its Dill relish

everything else is "sometimes"

Mustard

Everything but chilli (i.e. mustard, kraut, onions, relish)
chilli + cheese
relish + mustard

Just want to note that I generally will prefer ketchup over crap mustard on cheap hot dogs. On good hot dogs I prefer neither. If there is quality mustard available, it's a no-brainer. But that cheap crap that comes from a french's $0.25 bottle will not do.

I love french's yellow mustard.

i do the following combination:

basic ketchup/mustard

mustard and onions and/or relish and/or sauerkrat, but never relish or sauerkrat on the same bun

chili w/ optional onions.


typically i prefer better mustards than simple french's crap, but it will do in a pinch. never sweet mustards though, and horseradish ones are best. relish must be dill.
