Agreed. I watched the Hyuna version simply because someone here mentioned it and I had no idea what he/she was talking about. Long story short, I turned off the Hyuna video after she started caterwalling. I won't call what she was doing "singing" because that would lend credence to an abhorrent performance and would insult all other legitimate singers.

From what I can tell, Korean female pop-stars and super-models are a bit pasty, heavily made up, and can't sing or dance for spit. Much like many American female pop-stars.

Love PSY though. He is clearly talented and has an awesome sense of humor. Rapping on the toilet? What's not to like?

The music industry in Korea is very monopolized and manufactured. You make it big by getting picked up from these big labels (YG, SM entertainment, etc).

Unlike US, you'll never see 'real' bands who started from garage.
