I'm calling it now. AMD releases crossfire fix drivers officially to spoil this launch.
prototype2 driver (up to 2560x1600) is slated for the next few month unconfirmed.
prototype3 driver (eyefinity) is who knows when if will ever concieve.

Some of the posts in this thread are face palm worthy.
~1.5 years ago AMD release HD7970 with ~20-25% higher performance and lower price than the top end Nvidia single GPU GTX580 3GB. They claim AMD are fleecing us poor consumers.
Almost 3 months later Nvidia release GTX680 and it is slightly cheaper and slightly faster and it somehow seen as handing AMD its ass on a plate. The fact that it only reigned as top dog card for a few short months is conveniently forgotten.
1-1.5 years after HD 7970 is released and Nvidia release the Titan with ~30% higher performance and ~100% price increase and GTX780 with ~20% higher performance and ~60% price increase. Oooh Nvidia are simply the best and AMD should just give up because they can't compete.
Lets just forget that for the vast majority of the past 18 months AMD had the fastest single GPU available and were competing very well in both price and performance.
At least most people aren't trying to defend the pricing of GTX780. But proclaiming AMD as uncompetitive all of a sudden is pure BS. In fact for the first time in a few GPU generations AMD has been far more competetive than they would normally be.
well to be fair did they need their true high end? the little gk104 came out and matched or beat the only thing AMD could even come up with. AMD could only lower prices, add game bundles and then also raise their clocks to have a ghz edition to beat gk104 overall.Exactly. Nvidia took a year and a half to bring their "true high end", massively increased the price, managed to solidly beat AMD in the 18 month process, and these knuckleheads are drinking the Kool aid by the oil tanker full. It's strange.

What are you talking about? Don't you understand Tahiti is AMD's GK110, and Nvidia beat it in every metric with their mid range GK104. AMD have to undercut, oc, and provide game bundles to compete with little GK104.
Then, due to lack of competition Nvidia hyped the GK110 into a "super chip" and sell it for $1k a pop. It's a freaking joke, on Nvidias behalf for raping consumers, and on AMD's behalf for having sub par chips.
Ironically you are falling for the hype you are bemoaning. GK104 did not beat Tahiti in every metric because for most of the past 18 months Tahiti has been the fastest single GPU and has had the best price/perf. GK104 is a great chip but it doesn't beat Tahiti on every metric. It took Nvidia over a year to finally beat it in every metric apart from price.

Actually AMD needed another sku to take back the sgpu crown.680 is probably a little bit faster than the original 7970.
AMD GPUs have been more than competetive with Nvidia's offerings.
