Now that you mention it, +20% performance 780 (Titan light end), +20% price $600.
Win - win, hey wait a minute... Who won? (Hint, not the consumer)
It's the "go premium" strategy. Invented by your company AMD.

Charlie confirms earlier BSN/Fudzilla 760/770/780 leaks:
This comes at the end of May so the new parts go 780 in 3 or so weeks, 770 a week or two later, and then the 760Ti a week or two after that.
20-25% performance increase over predecessors.
I am seriously doubting new video cards coming out in the near term. The technology has outreached the software's capability at this point.
How the heck is NV going to make 20% faster GK-104.
GK-104 is not some GF100 with lots of room for refinement or unlocking.

who said they were? the 680 itself is almost tapped out but the 770 could be 15-20% faster than the 670 because it will simply be a slightly higher clocked 680. and the 760ti could easily be 15-20% faster than the 660ti because it will be a 670 with likely a little higher clocks. whats so confusing about that? How the heck is NV going to make 20% faster GK-104.

With the exception of the Titan it's usually a better gain than linear price/performance increase. I agree it's been extremely poor lately though.

Hows it poor??? There is NO need or even DEMAND for new video cards given todays games. The cards we have are more than enough. If the cards they release are indeed 20% higher than the cards they replace, its definitly a success, regardless of the chip they're using!

well maybe they will put a better cooler on there but who knows. really a stock 680 is already about 10-12% faster than a stock 670. just another 5% more squeezed out of the card should not be that big of a deal.Wouldn't that mean the 770 would have to boost to like 1400MHz on the core? I imagine they would need a new cooler for that...or simply accept a louder card.
If some had doubts, the GK104 (GTX660ti/670/680/760Ti/770 and others) is the new G92 (GT8800, GT9800, GTS250 and others). Good business.
So, do I buy another over-clocked 670 when prices drop or do I sell the one I have and buy two 770's? Thats the question.
Enough for who/what? Some of us are gaming at 1440p, or 1600p, or on multiple monitors, and/or at 120Hz, and we still want near-maximum settings while maintaining 120fps. Today's cards are NOT enough for this, I can assure you
