I'm sure they'll all receive Dishonorable Discharges now too, as is warranted IMO.

Along with the loss of all the many Veteran's Benefits they could have enjoyed had they remained faithful to The Corps and the Nation this branch of our military defends. Semper Fidelis must be meaningless to those traitors. If convicted, they really should be ceremoniously stripped of their rank and honors and drummed out of the Corps directly into a Fed Pen.

"Defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

I suspect something along those lines was their motivation...then they crossed the line into being domestic enemies.

Since they are/were active duty Marines, charge them with treason.

I wonder if they were conscious of the fact that they were actual participants in an insurrection rather than being scammed into believing that they were "patriots defending a president of whom (LOL) "had his election stolen from him". Either way, they must pay the price for their disgracing the Marine Corps by their actions and for committing acts of treason against the Nation they swore to defend. As well, Trump needs to pay a price commensurate with his high office and the high crimes he committed for instigating the insurrection he needed to remain in office.

If they did believe trump then they can sue him but it still doesn’t excuse their actions.

Does it count as treason if the CIC is calling for an insurrection?

4 more Oathkeepers convicted of seditious conspiracy.

"The verdict against Joseph Hackett of Sarasota, Florida; Roberto Minuta of Prosper, Texas; David Moerschel of Punta Gorda, Florida; and Edward Vallejo of Phoenix, comes weeks after after a different jury convicted the group’s leader, Stewart Rhodes, in the mob’s attack that halted the certification of President Joe Biden’s electoral victory."

Julian Khater, the man who pepper sprayed Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick just got sentenced to 80 months. I would have been happy with even more. He pled guilty back in Sep. If you recall, Sicknick died on Jan 7th from strokes.

Another crybaby insurrectionist. No Oorah for you.

Daniel Caldwell, a 51-year-old Marine Corps veteran, delivered a tearful apology in court to the officers he sprayed, expressing remorse for his actions that day and pleading with U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly for mercy.

Some are already back to claiming oppressed victimhood, and I am not surprised in the least. These people are garbage.

If we had hanged a few of these morons as traitors, we wouldn't be having this issue. It's not fun to fuck around and find out when the alternative is strangling to death on the end of a rope. As it stands, these light sentences handed out aren't going to serve as any kind of deterrence as shown by the lack of remorse after sentencing.

Agreed. They were charged too lightly, received way too light of sentences, and a slap on the wrist isn't going to deter anyone.

Agreed, but on the other hand too harsh a penalty will just solidify other's belief that they were being oppressed. You have to balance it, mete out justice not retribution.

Most importantly those that fomented this need to face some justice. Otherwise no matter how harsh the penalties this is going to happen again. There are always foolish people that will believe in charismatic leaders. We have to convivence those leaders that they can not get away with pointing angry mobs at our democratic institutions like aiming a gun at a bullseye. Right now we have done nothing to stop them trying again.

Sedition should ALWAYS be a death penalty crime.

What purpose does making murder a death penalty crime serve?

If you don't consider it a deterrent, consider it a punishment.

The normal argument is to permanently remove someone from society that we have determined we can not, or do not wish to, rehabilitate. The Death penalty should not be seen as a punishment, and has proven to not be very effective as a deterrent.

Do you really think the insurrectionists can be rehabilitated? I don't. String them up...all along Pennsylvania Ave.

Those on the right like to quote Thomas Jefferson..."The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Let's see if they still feel the same way if it's THEIR blood.
