**It seems as if some on "Obese Moneyholder" are finding this set dropped even more in price. I've heard that Target normally drops in 25% increments....so for even cheaper (gets wood)....happy hunting!!

Man, if I had seen that the other night I would have probably ordered those Rockets. However, it seems I found another hot deal at Target (not sure yet since I haven't hooked em' up) on the RCA DVD Home Theater System - RTD218 for $164.98.

The cheapest online for them seems to be Newegg for $299.00

Man, this has me contemplating getting a 2nd one for a dual display computer!!! 100" baby!



Last night a friend and I went to my local Target. I'm in the market for a TV, but hadn't planned on buying last night, that was until I saw this beauty:

Panasonic PT-50LC14

Ther retail tag said $1999, but a clearance sticker on it said $1599. I noticed the clearance sticker was dated August 31st, so I figure I'd check the sku and see if it had come down anymore.

The hot little red head at customer service (who I'm taking to dinner by the way) said it was $1149 plus tax, and that 2 were in stock counting the display! I paid cash money right there on the spot.

They called a cart guy up to go find it and pull it for me. He instantly got a real crappy attitude and said that the only one we had was the display, and also that I should pay the marked price of $1600, not $1150! My friend and I politely told the guy to go fvck himself and asked for another associate. At this point I'm worried there might just be the display model only, so the next ten minutes while they looked in the back were hell.

Finally though, this really helpful dude said "Sure there's one in the box in the back, I'll go grab her". You could see the troll who tried to lie to me earlier turn red from being so mad. Earlier he didn't even want to look in the back. He point blank refused to do so when I asked. Not sure what this guys deal was, but he couldn't knock me off my new TV high.

BTW, this thing has HDMI, 3 or 4 component (can't recall exactly at the moment, and 2 VGA inputs!. So now I'll have my PC and Dreamcast hooked up through VGA.

Man, I'm getting wood just thinking about this .

Anyone, sorry for so much personal info. Just wanted to share. I'm stuck at work all day so I can't play with my new TV until late tonight! Arghhh!

#1 How do you politely tell someone to "F" himself?
#2 You're taking the cashier out to dinner? But tonight you're playing with the TV......so you, like, set the date for next week? Or are you just expecting it to be a quick date?
#3 Hot? Available? Red-head? Working at Target....in the electronics department?
$4 You carry $1250 cash on you?
$5 Dreamcast doesn't have VGA output. Unless you mod it or use a converter that turns the image to crap. Why a high-rolling stud would want to play his 8 year old video game system on a $2000 TV with a crappy VGA converter, I don't know.

#1. I have no problem telling someone to go fvck himself, like I'm doing to you now, politely or not.
#2. I never said WHEN I was taking the girl to dinner, so your point, much like yourself, is pointless.
#3. She was a 6/7 on a 1 to 10 scale, but the mammories were a perfect 10, so yes, that qualifies as hot (from the neck down). In fact, the local Targets in my area have quite a few babes working there.
#4. Actually at the time I was carrying $2000 in cash on me. It shall totally ruin my day if you don't believe me though (hell, when I get home I'll scan the reciept for you, I've got enough free time to make you look like an idiot).
#5. Dreamcast has an available VGA adapter. Any gamer with half a brain knows this. The dreamcast goes along with my Atari 2600 (yes I have it hooked up, my son loves it), my Gamecube, my PS2, and hopefully soon my Xbox 360 now that I have a TV with HDMI.

Finally, I really do hope you find one of these at this price.

THis is a nice set, I had the 45lc12 a year ago. Nice TV... Looks nice and sharp... Screen Door Effect was not that noticeable on these guys... and I had Panasonic DVD player and HD cable hooked up to these guys via Cable card...

This is the 03 Model.

Though I agree a 50" LCD TV would be nicer, this is still almost %50 off. It makes me happy , but I see your point.

Nice job, OP. I've had to deal with so many fvuckers who don't want to just do their job and go look. Target is actually one of the worst... but there is a foxy cashier at mine.

This really is a hot hot deal, This t.v. goes for 2200.00 at costco still. I purchased this T.V. back before the Superbowl, and I haven't regretted it ever since. This was the best LCD projection I could find and I looked at many. I also had a Plasma before this and I couldn't stand watching SD TV on it, This model is great in HDTV, and Good in SDTV. Also really fun playing XBOX games on it with the HD cable. Can't wait to play the xbox 360 on it. Now I wish I could have got it at the price you got it. That is insane.

I did mention what the Target guy did to the manager up front while I waited on my friend to pull the truck up front so we could load the TV. He said he'd take care of it. I normally would let sh1t like that slide, but he went out of his way to prevent me from getting one in the box, or at the "ring up" price. He even went so far as to say to my friend that we were lucky that he'd even unhook the display model for us and that we could forget the remote as he was sure it was gone.

I figured it was punishment enough that he was made to wheel the "new in box" TV up front to the service counter. When I told him my friend and I could take it from there he said "No I have to go with you, Target policy forbids me from leaving you unattended with one of these flatbed handtrucks."! At that point this Shaq looking security gaurd came over and told the little Target guy "Go on to the back, we got this thing."

The security gaurd turned out to be pretty cool. He explained Target's whole policy on shoplifters and how they can legally handle them. Apparently they send these guys to train with police officers.

That's why it's YMMV. I know my South Philly Target is the dumps for some stuff. Remember when Target was clearing out that Microsoft wireless network gear? I was pissed that they didn't even have a smidgen of that stuff.
