My friend just got to Interstate 20 in Dallas at about 10:30. He left southeast Houston at 5:30 this morning. Quite a drive.

Haha, my uncle was going to go but he's going to wait it out in Houston. We've all been yelling at him all day to get his ass here NOW. I have a real bad feeling. On a brighter note, they're opening up I45 - both Southbound and Northbound to Northbound, 8 way lanes outta Houston.

Yeah, pretty much all stations are out of gas. The last I saw there were six stations in the entire area with gasoline, and that was about five hours ago.

Good thing I'm not going anywhere.

The storm is to stall out over Texas and dump as much as 3 feet of rain in areas by Monday. Yeah Id be stocking up too. Southeast, east and north central texas will be recieving rain all week. There will be massive flooding in most areas.

No, this is our peak season. It dies off the begining of November. You should have come in June or July, hurricanes are in season but there usualy are not very many of them untill September or October. Just be sure to bring a flashlight, water purifier, and can opener: because nothing else really matters.

Rita's eye is looking ragged on the latest sat shots along with a drop in convection, but she's still getting bigger. The 10am NHC report should be interesting, there might be a change in the intensity forcast.

Local News video of where water breached the 9th ward area east of the Industrial canal again.

They just dried out and it is now flooding back up to the roof lines.

The Lake level has been rising. The Industrial canal is same level as the lake.

Just another foot and New Orleans will go under water again.

They are evacuating where I am here, lake is starting to come inland up here on the North Shore.

Dozens of blocks in a New Orleans neighborhood are now under water.

The water is pouring over a patched levee, in the form of a waterfall at least 30 feet wide. A National Guardsman says, "Our worst fears came true." He says if it keeps up, the levee will breach, and he says it "will fill the area that was flooded earlier."
