People like this movie? What a piece of garbage. It is pretty much this year's version of Crash, but not even as good as that trash.

I don't see why there is even hype about this? Because it is war? The movie was boring, and the plot was friggin terrible. It tried to be some kind of realistic drama that made you think, but the entire thing was completely ridiculous and no way believable.

Jeremy Renner was very average. The other two guys were much better but it didn't matter.

I kept thinking "ok, this is the point in the movie where something is actually going to happen" but it never did. The suspense was very weak. Spoiler: "Oh shit, they kidnapped the the guy in the alley. Oh, they shot him and got him back 15 seconds later."

Can someone explain what the appeal of this movie is? Don't give me some bullshit about emotion and war, because this movie did not portray anything deep. Same goes for "well you're the only one". I don't care if someone else liked it, because it sucked.

There were a few of these types of scenes, but it did not excuse the movie for being stupid and boring. There was some suspense, but I felt it was trying too hard. Everything was either predictable, completely ridiculous, or completely lackluster. The end was meaningless to me since the whole rest of the movie sucked and made me not care. It brought out very little emotion since the plot was really really bad IMO

Try watching it again knowing that its not an action movie. I've noticed people have a major issue with war movies that don't have much action (Jarhead, Thin Red Line, English Patient, keep in mind I am not saying any of those are good, just that if you go in expecting Saving Private Ryan then you'll be disappointed, but the lack of action is integral to the film's story/point).

I have not seen Hurt Locker yet, so I can't really give my own opinion on it.

My sentiments. While I didn't dislike or hate the movie, I remember everyone wouldn't STFU about how great it was- internet, newspapers, & TV.

So I saw it. It was meh at best. The diffusal scenes were intense, but as for actual character developments and plot, it was pretty thin. It was awkward because I couldn't figure out if the movie was trying to be like a documentary or drama/action.

The ending was not only predictable, but cliche.

Uh, no. Not even fvcking close. Asshole. In fact, and I'm not being facetious, its highlight was in the first 10 min with Guy Pearce. After that it feel a bit flatter.

It's a good movie, along the lines of Jarhead. I don't know what people were expecting, i.e. the guys above, but it was a great movie.

thank god someone else is sane. this movie was terribad.

to be fair, i actually thought jeremy renner was pretty good- his acting was the high point of the movie.

but the writing was fucking terrible and the movie was touted as 'gritty and realistic' despite being one of the most baseless and outright fucking stupid war movies ever made.
