I haven't heard any hating on slumdog millionaire. I've never seen it but I don't think I've heard from anyone that they didn't like it.
I'll argue your "hate the popular" view though. I think why that may seem the case is because when people watch a shitty movie and it sucks, they don't bitch about it. But when people watch a movie that is supposed to be great, and it sucks, there is a stronger backlash.
I really don't understand how people can say that the movie was realistic. The bomb guy ignoring what everyone is telling him, taking off his gear, going rogue into the streets trying to track down a kid, bomb experts going off randomly into the night to try to find the bombers...not going to even bother with the sniping scene. come on now. if the movie wasn't trying to play itself as some realstic movie, based on on scene reporters etc etc, the crazy shit would be ok. but don't tell me that the movie is realistic...
I wasn't gaga over slumdog millionaire, if that makes you happy.
How about this:
The Hurt Locker >>> Crash >>>>>> Slumdog Millionaire.
