I don't like physical media. It's inconvenient and takes up room. I'd rather provide my own mass storage and download bits.

Re: iPod Classic. I was just missing my Minidisc Player the other day. I loved the mechanics, I loved how cool it looked, I loved the cassettes, everything! But now I just pay ten or twenty bucks a month for Spotify, which has over 100 million songs that I can ask Siri or Alexa to play instantly. No loading a physical cartridge, no downloading, etc. Plays anywhere on any device I have...TV, smart speakers, cell phone, car, etc. I miss the physicality of the whole setup tho!
Man, Minidisc was the best format ever. I remember dying to get one of these so badly.
I wish I had a house where I could start collecting old audio stuff like this.

Long as you isolate it from the internet and make reliable regular backups that's fine .... MOST folks don't!

Commercial CD's and DVD's last a long time unless physically damaged. They can't be "messed with" by greedy and unscrupulous recording companies. (or drive failure/malware)

Storing and accessing them IS a pain though!

There is an odd nostalgic feeling with physical media, but it's definitly better having everything digital, as long as it's a file I have on my own server and is backed up. I'm not a fan of anything that can easily be taken away, such as cloud based stuff or proprietary formats.

I went through a minimalistic phase & digitized everything I owned ten or fifteen years ago. Books, photos, music, movies, you name it! It's definitely a lot more convenient because I have a laptop, tablet, smartphone, and HTPC, so I can access 100% of my stuff on any device anywhere in the world. But I do miss the physicality of hardware & the experiences associated with that, like renting a 2-day movie from Blockbuster & watching it no matter how dumb it was haha!

I still continue to do this, but things have changed a bit. I have a scanner that I use to scan & shred my mail into PDF format every day, no physical paperwork is kept & I have a copy on my computer & backed up to my Google Drive online. I found that I prefer to read paper books, especially fiction novels, because I really like being able to flip back & forth, I like the smell, and I like having the physical thickness of paper to hold in my hands. I still like paper for notes, but I've mostly switched to using an iPad Pro with an Apple Pen because the resolution is good enough for doing endless digital notes.

Modern life is convenient, but unfulfilling in some ways. Plus such a large amount of it requires financial stability. For example, between Uber Food delivery & Amazon Prime, you can have anything you want to eat or anything you want to buy hand-delivered to your house same-day or within a few days like magic, assuming you have the budget for it. Both of these videos crack me up:

Ryobi 18v fan. Ordered it because it's a pita driving to HD now because of the construction, and they use Door Dash so it actually came in today.

I sometimes find myself needing to run a fan where I don't have a power outlet and this will also be handy in the tent when camping. I'm testing it now and even low setting pushes quite a lot of air. Been running for about an hour on a 2ah battery and still full bars.

Oh nooooossssss - Biden caught with a bag of cocaine.

That was the clickbait version. What actually happened was that someone left a bag of coke in the white house. No further detail at this time.

Be careful with Windows update downloading BIOS updates. It can take approx. 5 to 7 minutes for the firmware update to finish so UPS is recommended.

I can't tell you how much I hate this. My test bench has a UPS now specifically because of this.

I've slowed down my whiskey buying but made an exception for these two which were at MSRP.

I saw today that Dell Latitude BIOS offers a way to disable this stupid "feature". Haven't gotten my hands on a recent Dell desktop yet. Turns out Linux has implemented something similar too, though I'm sure it would be easier to fix from within Linux.

And also good idea to do a test run to make sure the battery holds up, then let it charge over several hours (UPSes tend to have really slow chargers) then do the update. If it decides to do a self test at the wrong time it may shut off if battery is bad. I've had that happen in middle of gaming, not fun!

For bios updates I also like to move the power cord over to solar, minimize the chance of outage altogether.

64 Audio U4s IEM's. Their lowest priced entry in the IEM world after only catering to the super high end crowd for their first stuff.

Great reviews and so far initial testing is very positive. It's super cool you can change the bass quantity and isolation with a selection of modules that control releasing air from the dynamic driver. These really sound pretty lovely from a lows to the mids and the highs, and the build quality feels tip top. The cable is just okay, it's too stiff and not supple enough. But with the iFi GoPods that's not an issue.

Got the G-Shock GBX100 G-LIDE watch last week. Wanted something tough, lightweight and comfortable for activities like biking, hiking and anything outdoorsy. This is not a smart watch but has an app and has a few features that are actually pretty cool. Pedometer for steps, sunrise/sunset details, and tide details. I definitely wanted a step counter, and the sunrise-sunset is great for outdoors stuff. This watch is light and the band is super comfy as all the reviews pointed out, and were correct. Comfortable, light and tough, it measures up.

I'm already addicted to the phone enough, a smart watch is just a bad idea for my brain.

The big thing is the display. It's a unique type of LCD that is super visible from any angle, and it really works well in real-world usage. Highly recommended.

I wish my arms were that hairy.
Cute girls don't want hairy anything. I can say from experience. I always see the cutest girls with hairless studs or straight guys that could easily be fags. No offense to anyone here

That's also one of the reasons given to me by a few lesbians I've talked to. According to them, men are "dirty" and girls are "clean".

This shit is hilarious. I think I'll stick to my record of connections with the opposite sex than anything Igor has ever had or will have. I've told you before igor5, your comprehension of women is totally fucked in every way.

I will admit though when I was younger I was self conscious of body hair. But then I started getting laid. At 18. The last 30 years have beenn a lot of fun.

I actually have a normal amount of body hair. It hasn't occurred to me as an self conscious issue in decades.

I am self-conscious about one hair thing though, is the lack of it on parts of my head. But I get compliments from my dates on how it works on me. I fucking hate it still but I take the compliments.

Idk.... I'm hairy AF AND look like Uncle Fester mixed with John Denver to boot, yet I've had plenty of cute GF's.

It's NOT the wand, it's the magician! (also you have to let rejection roll off you like water off a duck!)
