Samsung Flip 5, and Watch 6 classic.

Flip 5, other than the big front screen is basically the same. But with trading in directly to Samsung, a new phone is only $100, a no brainer for me. The clear case is pretty nice, changing colors with the colored inset is a neat trick. Be some interesting after market ones I am sure. The case is very slick though, obviously as it is hard plastic. I am in gym clothes 90% of the time other than work, and I can see it slipping out of my pocket easily sitting down. May have to change to a normal case. The front screen is very usable, can respond to texts, check weather, easier for selfies, etc. With selfies it uses the real camera, not the one from the screen when the phone is opened. Much better quality to take them with. I have had every flip, happy with their progress. I detest a huge phone in my pocket.

The Watch 6 classic (on the right), the rotating bezel is back. SO much better with it, they should never remove it again. Only 1mm bigger than my Watch 5 Pro, but at just $250 with my discounts, and selling my Watch 5 Pro for $250, it was only $50. After taxes new phone and watch little over $200. Better battery, bigger screen, and rotating bezel, easily worth $50. Wish my wife's iPhones were this cheap to upgrade.

My very first "real" receiver was an Onkyo and I loved it. Always wanted another one but the hi-end models can be expensive. Finally got this one. Probably last year's model, but that's fine. It's replacing a very good but dated Yamaha.

2015 Toshiba Satellite L875-S7308 (17.3') for $5 at the flea market, no power supply, battery still good. Upgraded the 640GB 2.5" SATA-HDD (Windows 8) to a Lexar NS100 512GB 2.5" SATA III SSD ($20) with Windows 11 (TPM bypass), 6GB of DDR3 1600 Mhz to 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz ($19).

Used (good condition) 2019 MacBook Pro Retina 16-inch - Core i9 - 64GB - SSD 1024GB - $1350. Upgraded the MacOS from Catalina (10.15.7) to Ventura (13.5.1).

This will be my 3th Apple computer. Previous ones are 2005 PowerMac G5 A1047 two dual-core, Leopard 10.5.6) and Mac Mini A1347 Mid (2011) (High-Sierra 10.13.6) besides the Intel Hackintoshes (Yosemite, High-Sierra).
Not counting the 2010 Apple iPad, 2011 iPad 2 and 2018 iPad 9.7" (6th Gen) I still have and occasionally use..

Nice. I picked up a refurbished Denon receiver last year (directly from the manufacturer) for around the same price when I was upgrading our home audio from some crappy and cheap old sound bar to having real, floor-standing speakers.

Xfinity cable internet. I know, the dark side and all that.
We were with a little ISP with a flaky streaming app for the local channels, which my wife is hooked on.
I tried out youtube TV and then started the process for going back to craptastic. There was a $25 promo rate for 200 Mbps, 24 months no contract. We plan on selling this place within 24 months
I did not get my modem provisioned in a timely manner, and the deal expired.
Thus begins the afternoon on phone support. The CSR had to go back to get the promo rate again, which had expired. When she got done we ended up with .........
$15 a month for intarwebs! She could not get it to do the 25 and she gave up when it latched on to the $15

RANT: Had a very bad exprience with Xfinity/Comcast. Downgraded my cable from 185 channels to125 channels, for $30 less monthly payment. I've been holding on to the "old" cable boxes that has firewire port in the back.
It's been recommended that I get an upgrade to the cable box, current ones don't have a firewire port. This was connected to a PC (Hackintosh) so I could capture my recorded videos to a hard drive, a hobby I've been doing since mid 2004. Unbeknownst to me, by downgrading, I'd be losing all my recordings on the built in 160HG HDD and have to pay a extra monthly fee for anything more than 20 hours of cloud storage. Pissed off, cannot describe how mad I am. Now I have to look on-line/usenet for those documentaries (NOVA from PBS, The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc.) which I've recorded for the last 2 years or so.

Had some REI mastercard rewards and gift cards, B&H card rewards and a bunch of credit at Backcountry. Ended up rounding out my camp kitchen with some good stuff, a nice big Thermarest camp blanket, some softshell pants, a nice Kuhl vest, a super light but small carbon fiber tripod for my little camera, a small phone size GoDOX constant on LED light for video fill, Leofoto tripod plate with strap mount, and their sling strap that works in it for my Oly EM1, and a Gregory Nano backpack for a small but good daypack when I don't need to carry much on the trail, 20L.

That's my Christmas, mostly rewards and a gift card and some credit.

For some of us older farts, what is this?
Here is the finished product. It turned out incredible. I feel like it's a piece of art and I don't even wanna use it just look at it lol.

And it is a controller for all consoles and PC. I will be using it on PS5 primarily though.
