Out of curiosity, what's not allowing you to get back in the saddle?
Injured my back years ago. Can't handle the position or potholes, etc. Used a stem extender to up the height of the handlebars for training indoors - didn't work out well.

Fun. Make sure there's a cup holder for a beer, and a spot to put a mini cooler. Very important feature on these machines.
Oh there's definitely a cup holder I've debated getting the canopy attachment, but figure my yard hat will provide sufficient shade. I'm on the fence about getting either the mulch or bagger kit. I feel that the bagger would be a massive pain in the ass given how thick our grass (St. Augustine) is -- I'd be emptying that damn thing every 10 minutes.

Mulcher is definitely the route I would go unless you have a huge compost bin to dump the grass in so you're not dealing with bagging or having to go to the dump. My parents insist on bagging their grass and bring it to the dump, the amount of work to do that is crazy.

I found a deal on Ebay for an X99 motherboard earlier today. Ordered it, it will go in the backup NAS.

Champion 3kw generator. Way more power than I need for the house but someone I know was selling it for $250 and I had been kinda thinking of getting a generator for backup power anyway so figured I'd buy it. Going to set this up behind the shed so if power goes out and solar is not producing enough I can go start it up and it will boost the battery. The inverter would already be running and sending power to the house so I don't have to worry about setting that part up as it's already done. Would keep the servers going if UPS battery is getting low and I could run extension cords to fridge and freezer.

I originally bought an inverter with idea that I can set it up in the truck but trying to figure out the wiring and where to run it etc is kind of a pain so I decided to abandon that idea. Vehicles are not really easy to work in when it comes to wiring.

I've had the champion 3200w dual fuel generator for 6 years and still going strong. Use it for dry camping (pretty rare) and when our power goes out (which is frequent). I love the dual fuel propane/gas. This should last you a good while.

How ridiculous is this lens? The answer is "yes".

D850 w/ the 150-600 f/5-6.3 next to a D7100 with an 80-200 f/2.8 with lens positions at 150mm and 600mm. A shame the weather sucks tonight or I'd go get some moon photos

The duel fuel ones are nice, I was looking at those originally as I would just go propane and not worry about it going bad if not used. The one I got is only gas though. For $250 can't complain. I will just need to get into the habit of cycling it and putting some fuel stabilizer in my fuel. No sense in having the generator if I don't keep fuel on hand. One downside of me going electric for my snow blower and lawn mower is it won't really get used otherwise.

Also decided to order a bunch of parts so I can revisit my generator plug idea for my shed. Rather than have a 120v inlet that powers a PSU which powers the solar battery, and then inverter powers all the plugs around the house, I will setup the inverter so it just outputs to a twist lock plug, then have a generator plug that also outputs to a twistlock plug. The electrical panel that the inverter feeds will then plug into one of those plugs. So to run the house on generator I would just move the plug over. Of course a transfer switch would be the proper way but I have limited space on that wall. This will make more sense since it will allow me to actually use the full capacity of the generator. I have a 40 amp feed from the shed going to the house already.

We really don't get outages that often here but it's one of those things that's nice to be prepared for when it does happen. Between the solar power and the generator I shouldn't have any situation where I can't power the important stuff in my house even if power goes out for days.

With this setup I may also go with a smaller battery bank for my server room now. If power is out for more than a few hours and solar is not cutting it, I would then go start the generator.

Get Aspen4 for the generator. It's expensive, but it burns clean and keeps for years. I have corn free regular fuel I keep on hand for my small engines, so I can use that in my genny, but I keep a jug of Aspen2 around in case I run out, cause I don't want corn fuel in my saws. If I didn't have all that other stuff, I'd buy Aspen4 for generator use.

How heavy is it? I have the tamron 70-200mm sp II or something like that and it's heavy! I love it for the reach but I hate lugging that thing around.

Never heard of that, will have to see if I can get it here. I might just get premium ethanol free fuel, put stabilizer in it and call it a day though. You can also get "gas pump" style nozzles that let you fill a vehicle from a jerry can, if I get one of those what I would do is just put the fuel in my truck when it's been sitting for a few months and just cycle it that way. Either way it's probably a good idea to cycle the generator itself once in a while anyway.

Didn't go Adam A7V? I am dissapoint.

I have the Adam T5V for my desktop setup. Could not fit the 7's on my desk with current setup, but I think they might be overkill for my space. The ribbon tweeters are great because I'm sitting down. If you are close to the speakers and stand up you do lose SQ, but, as a desktop monitor they are pretty amazing. You have the A7V?

Funny enough I ended up using it the other day. Power went out due to a storm while I was working from home. I have my server rack and office on -48v inverter but I'm not done wiring everything and don't have the big battery bank yet so it's setup to automatically transfer to solar as it only has a small battery to act as a buffer between the transfer. To extend the solar battery for a bit I ran the rectifiers off generator and worked out nicely. It's fairly loud though, I'll definitely want to build an insulated soundproof box for it. I shut it off around 4:30 before people get home from work so I don't get a noise complaint and rode the rest of the outage on the solar batteries. It probably would have been fine without the generator but if I have it may as well use it!
