Finally upgraded my portable 5,500 watt generator from a huge, heavy, clunky, loud @SS pull start gasoline only. Bought a small, light, electric start, Dual Fuel, Quiet, inverter 3,650 watt generator. Less continuous wattage, but still more than I'll need for essentials during the storm season. At 1/4 load it est run time is 14 hours on 2.25 gallons of gas and 21 hours on a 20# Propane tank. Massive improvement over my old generator that would run about 7.5 hours on 5 gallons of gas. The electric start is a dream over the pull start on my old one.

Just completed the breakin run and I can't even hear it running from inside the house and it is very quiet even standing next to it.

Total cost was $808 US Dollars.

I might need to pull the trigger on one of these. Did you get it at costco? Looks like a model they sell.

Lowes with the military discount... Home Depot also has these.

Neither had it in stock so I had to order it and wait a week.

The only thing I've seen at Costco was Firman, and from my research they don't have a good record...

I bought noise cancelling headphones. It was a tossup between the Sony WH-1000XM5 and the Bose Quietcomfort Ultra. I went with the Bose because I couldn't get the Sony volume/track change gestures to work when I tried them in the store. The Bose also did a better job of blocking noises in the store. I really liked the hand cup thing on the Sony's but with the other gestures not responding, I gave up on the Sony's. So far, so good. Pairing with the phone and PC for calls and music was easy peazy. The Bose app is annoying but sort of useful. I'll have to try the set wired to the iPod next.

Funny - I got myself the Sony XM4 when they hit $200 the other week. Part of why I went with them over the XM5 was price. And compared to the Bose, I read too many complaints of Bose headphone pads disintegrating (maybe that was overblown online complaints). At least on the XM4, the gesture features work well for me. The noise cancelling is certainly great, as I sit next to a loud HVAC fan and it's just a gentle background whoosh with the headphones on.

I bought the older XM3 in early 2019 and my wife bought the Bose equivalent at the same time. Mine have held up perfectly and I’ve replaced her ear pads already — and I use mine constantly, much more than she uses hers. The ear pad disintegration is real but also easily fixable.

Sure, it's easily fixable, but it shouldn't be such a big issue if you're spending that much in the first place.

I agree, I prefer the Sony. And actually now that I think about it it wasn’t actually that easy. She got the blue colored ones and the ear pads from Bose were no longer available (and the black ones that are available were expensive). I had to get an aftermarket brand from Amazon.

Heading to the Megadeth with opener Mudvayne show this weekend - 20_ section - Row 11.

Haven't been to a hard rock/metal show in a long time. Can I expect to see some titties?

My new saw came in...

Gonna go out for groceries soon, and I'll bring the old one in with me when I come back, then swap parts over to the new saw. I want my modded muffler, dogs, and bar & chain off the old one.

Just bought five 2"x4'x8' panels of polystyrene foam to insulate the massive steel roll-door on our external building. That shit has been radiating a ton of heat and causing the mini-split to work over time.

Got my stuff transferred over. I still need to fuel it and get it tuned. Probably this weekend. I don't feel like going outside cause of humidity and rain, and inside scares the cats :^D

I am part of the cult now, I bought a brompton last night. After using the Tern for a couple weeks and taking it out a lot, I loved it in general, but the fold of it was too big and bulky, the drivetrain side was on the outside of the fold, which got me dirty a couple times, it was awkward to carry in the tight spaces I needed to. So that one is going up for sale. I got a bigger check than I thought this week so dropped a couple large on a 6 speed C-Line Brompton in Orange blackout, with the orange stem to boot. Plus a bit on some accessories. The tern showed me how much more I would bike for shorter trips if I had a small bike, but it was just not in the right package when folded. Super excited to be taking my car out less, plus having such a convenient way to just pop into mass transit with a folded package that is truly compact enough to do so with, and then ride to my destination when I pop out. BIKES! My only regret is not realizing this about ten years ago - the amount of times I could have utilized this thing are just innumerable.

I feel so blessed to live where I don't need to rely on a car so much. Walkability, bike ability, mass transit ability, are just some of the most valuable things I have accessible to me. And this bike is just going to increase it exponentially. Hooray

Garmin Epix Pro 51mm sapphire. I wanted a watch that tracks using GPS for up to 48 hours for UTMB in 3 weeks. Shown next to my Forerunner 955 Solar, it's huge.

It's been a while since I've bought a PC game, but I bought the Doom Classic Bundle on Steam. It's remastered with new music and it's f'ing awesome. Also includes Doom 3 and Doom 64.

I also bought the Quake 1 and 2 remasters. $20 for everything isn't bad. It's worth it just to be able to hit play, without cobbling together various mods, and everything runs flawlessly. The only thing I don't like in Doom is switching weapons with the mouse wheel. There's like a 2s delay before it switches weapons, where I'm used to it being instantaneous, and there's no option to fix that.
