@highland145 - try to remember to text at least a before the apocalypse.
Ha, that's nothing. I was having a convo with my Bro last year, said I had about 2500 rounds of .223. He said...That's it?

He's a bit over the top.

That ammo is for my nephews. They're cutting down the pest animal population on their farm. Fox in the hen house pests.

72 albums (64 hours) of Hungarian psychedelic music. About three hours into it now and so far it's been awesome.
Another release:

Recorded in a goat pasture in one afternoon.

Boots for this Winter because even in post-climate age NJ, there's a remote chance I might have to kick away some snow

Plus, I'm a paisley tie guy and I don't wear ties.

I'll probably not lace the top 4 or 5 sets of eyelets. I hate doing laces and my winter shoes are a pair of black tactical boots. I have zip adapters laced into the but those are designed for genuine military service boots which are 2-3 inches above mine. Even so, I rather just have cool pair of boots anyway.

They have a lot of others that tempted me tho. Google 'rogue wolf boots'

"Vegan leather"(a confusing way to say "plastic") is a huge NOPE for me. Almost 100% downsides compared to real leather.

I once got an ulu from the thriftshop. It came with the original paperwork that said it had a "cultured ivory" handle. Now that shit's interesting! How does one culture ivory? It implies to me some kind of deposition process. How does that work? I bet it's pretty cool! Might be an expensive process. Turns out, what they really meant was "plastic", cause you could see the mold lines in the handle. That shit's just legal dishonesty. Obfuscate what it the product really is by using non standard nomenclature.

Only toe section is plastic, the rest is wool. I'd never buy plastic shoes unless they could be made to feel and transpire like leather.

That said, I never liked polyester or other synthetics until they came with microfiber. All of my pocket t-shirts are now polyester but they're microfiber. So they're a little bit shiny in the right light but the weave has an almost imperceptible texture. It drapes very nicely and wicks away sweat very efficiently.

Oh, and check out the Rogue + Wolf website. A lot of unusual items.

Did you get every wasp species, or are you specializing? I kind of like the top left. It's extra fuzzy!

Bought some silver coins, which came in the other day. Historical moment, so thought I'd grab a few when I saw these. Bought 7 for $318.08 total, wanted to buy enough to get free shipping.

Nice boots.

Also imagine how much of a terrible loser of a human being you have to be in order to buy Trump coins 😂 My goodness. And people are proud of it which is just the saddest thing I've witnessed in my entire adult life so far.

This is recently bought, but been taking out the Brompton a lot, and has saved me having to worry about parking and traffic a bunch already. My Brompton in its natural habitat

We're not supposed to understand. That's part of the *gag* "charm."

I just hope squirrel didn't pay too much of a premium. And no, I don't want to know.

I just hope squirrel didn't pay too much of a premium. And no, I don't want to know.

Premium was about the same as the maple coins which are more or less the standard 1oz coins minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, so fairly standard. I tend to avoid the ones with high premium since at the end of the day it's really the value of the silver itself I care about. I like to buy these oddball ones with the off chance at some point they're worth a lot, but I also don't really count on it. I see this more as a diversified savings that I can hold on to physically.

Funny enough it's also what's giving me the best return on investment so far since I started buying in early 2022. This is basically enough to keep up with inflation, so that in the future if I cash it in, it will be better than if I held on to the cash only.
