It's kind of weird. The local paper ran a feature on "Graves of Famous Local Dead People" and the first pic shows a headstone made of granite from our land.

That's a plastic knockoff. It was ~$20 on amazon. I used to(?) have a brunton, but I can't find it anywhere. I had the tripod mount for it too. I'd love for that thing to turn back up. That cheapy serves my purposes well enough, but it obviously isn't nearly as good.

I hope you find it. I bought a Brunton when I got out of school and still love it.

@IronWing that is lovely property. I am an equipment operator, and that land presents some big challenges. I'd want to do some things with the stone, but at the same time not screw up the cacti and other delicate flora.
The mini excavator I use at work will move 1600 pounds with relative ease, but won't reach it worth a damn. You have to walk it where you want the stones. It has rubber tracks which are both good for protecting the rock and bad for getting trashed by it

On sale for 60% off and figured it was time for a new vacuum. I have a central vac from 1983 that still works ok, but a smaller vacuum is kind of nice if I just want to vacuum something real quick and don't want to take the whole hose out.

I'm legit excited at a vacuum purchase and just vacuumed the whole house. This is the pinnacle of adulthood.

Nothing. Been trying to find a nice wood desktop for my standing desk frame. PITA finding a decent, real wood top that doesn't cost too much. Allot are also on the narrow side (24-25").

Just ordered a Big Agnes Tiger Wall Ultralight 3 person backpacking tent. My 2 man is not an ultralight and this 3 man weighs a pound and a half less than that 2 man. I figure it will be comfy for me and the dog plus when I find that lucky lady that also goes backpacking

Yeah Big Agnes makes good stuff. Tent has a couple drawbacks, but the weight and size and headroom/roominess inside make it worth it. In case you do get stuck in the rain and have to shelter up, it's nice to have a roomier tent, roomie in the backpacking tent sense.

Carrying my dog's sleeping bag and sleeping pad is adding 3lbs to my loadout so I gotta start saving weight in other places. I'm getting older and my bad back and weak core need some work lol

That's beastly. You must have been a beast to carry a loadout with a 13lb expedition tent.

My last loadout was like 42lb for a one nighter, but I do bring some luxury items with me such as a small speaker, a helinox zero folding chair and a pair of sanuk camp shoes. I am cutting back a few things this trip to lighten my load but not those three things. After a 10 mile hike with a big backpack on you, there is nothing nicer than sitting in a chair and taking off your boots and having sanuks on for the rest of the night.
