Not sure that the best idea . Just opened it up and quality doesn't match the pictures or reviews. It's really workbench grade stuff. I'm just going to install it for now. Hopefully I can take it off early next summer, sand it down, stain it and poly it. Should spruce it up enough. At least it will look way better than my old beat up Formica on MDF desk.Never occurred to me to order lumber from Amazon. Thanks.
I bought a Ryzen R5 5600G for my HTPC.
works like a dream.
no, I don't use madvr.I've been eyeing that for my next HTPC (currently running an A6-6400k, which is surprisingly still going strong with light madVR settings and HDR->SDR tonemapping at 1080p).
Have you tried madVR? If so, what settings do you use?
OK I thought about it, and ordered a keyboard for $60 rather than $550 for a new one. It does the needful for now.I am contemplating getting this chromebook.

My old one died from too much caffeine.
Why not have both?OK I thought about it, and ordered a keyboard for $60 rather than $550 for a new one. It does the needful for now.
Don’t let the picture fool you, this thing is huge (and heavy). The FedEx guy was like “No problem, I got a pallet jack. You don’t? Good luck, bye.” Now we have to buy another bench or table to put it on.
I received a cease and desist letter from his attorneys, so that's not an option on the table anymore.Might be cheaper to just buy Hugh Jackman
I bought a Samsung A650 3.1 soundbar for the living room. Needed something cheap to upgrade from the shitty TV speakers. It's the most used TV in the house, but it's all light duty stuff -- news, sports, occasional music. The subwoofer is kind of crap but overall sound quality works for the current price $210. Happy with the purchase.

Another impulse purchase. Bought a 120v portable induction cooktop. Someone was selling it for 35 bucks practically new. I don't even think it got used. Figured it makes a good backup if power goes out as I can run it off solar but it's also something I can bring to my cabin once I build one. Boiled a pot of water using solar as a test and worked nicely. Well technically I was using the battery since the sun was setting.
