Got this desktop firepit because I never use the one outside except once or twice per year and then mostly viewed from the monitors.

But I don't like candles or incense since there's a lot of particulate residue. Most probably gets caught (eventually) in the fairly dense, accordion style furnace filter but it's not technically true HEPA. Note, I have my reasons for not using HEPA but let's skip that.

Unfortunately, my OCD still has issues with fire indoors. So I'm not sure how much this is going to be used but I so love the concept.

edit: It uses ethanol denatured with methanol so at least in theory, using almost 200 proof ethanol should allow it to burn cleanly.

I just splurged and made a pretty large 40th birthday purchase for myself. It's supposed to ship tomorrow and based on estimated transit time should arrive on Friday. I'll post pics one it arrives.

Any reason for the Uplift over comparable offerings from Fully? Uplift had been on my list, but ended up with a Fully Jarvis because of the ongoing sale that knocked ~15% off and a stackable 5% off with newsletter subscription.

Still don't "get" why the fuck NFT is a thing.

There was a piece on NPR about this recently. It's basically just rich people showing off and gambling, buying up really expensive stuff whether for simple bragging rights, or via hype as a way to make money. It's basically memes for rich people or people seeing the next big hype train to ride to rich town.

Got this a few months back and its been excellent. SVS SB-1000 pro subwoofer. For my sized space it's perfect. For larger rooms you might want two of these, or also SVS makes larger ones, or also open port versions. The SB are sealed. The SB-1000 is quite compact for its power, fits on the regular sized SubDude subwoofer pad nicely.

Clutch move? You can tweak/control them via an app through Bluetooth. When it gets later in the night I lower the subwoofer volume and turn off the parametric EQ i have boosting a couple frequencies.

Paired with the Klipsch Reference premier 500m bookshelf speakers and center channel as well.

Nice been looking at SVS subs for my theater room downstairs. I'm kind of stuck trying to decide between ported or sealed.

For home theater most of the research I did leaned slightly towards ported as they have a deeper bass extension. The sealed have a faster response time, which is great for music. Plus ported are a bit louder at the same amplification.

Since I have someone living below me plus I stream music via this system as well as for home theater, I went sealed. For a pure home theater where you don't have to worry about making too much noise, ported should be the choice I think.

Not sure if the construction of the room can add to this decision process, such as wall and floor materials.

I'm no expert but I have 2 higher end 18" ported subs for my HT and they are stupid loud. I've never had a comparable sealed one though so I can't really say much about comparing them.

Yeah I've read plenty saying as much. It'll do movie duty most of the time, maybe 25% music. And honestly the circumstance in the house is that it won't be played loud very often. The only time the theater is used is when the kids are sleeping.

Yeah that'd be sweat. Though my budget is more in line with the SVS SB or PB-1000 , which is around $500.

A 12" pizza screen and a 12" pizza peel. Been making pizza for years on aluminum pizza pans, this should be a real fun upgrade.

Also bought a TON of stuff to help me fix my fridge, and did, including thermostat, wifi energy monitoring plug, wifi temp/humidity reporting monitors, data point recording temp monitors, brushes, vacuum attachments, I have it all. Now I can keep it healthy and purring sweetly.

A new electrode holder for my welder. Before that, a bunch of wall mounted soap dispensers for my business.
I ordered a torch setup yesterday:

Jewelry Repairing Torch Mini Gas Torch Micro Torch Oxygen Acetylene Welding Torch (THUS-P01001)

It was supposed to arrive today, but didn't.

Edit: Whoops! Shipped but "Arriving December 6 - December 27"

I've never done any torch work except propane and some Mapp gas, using the same cheapo propane torch, which I still have. But I've occasionally had a project that I thought could be done with welding equipment. Never had an idea of how to get into it, but someone here suggested this setup as a possible way to jury rig a solution to a nasty kitchen faucet problem I had earlier in the year. It appears to be quite adequate, very cheap (and just had a price drop to boot), perhaps not as safe as could be, according to a review or two I saw. I'll have to figure out some project to get my feet wet. I suppose I have to shop oxygen and acetylene cannisters, maybe some special gloves and eye-protection. Maybe get a book, watch some videos. I was friends many years ago with a guy who was trained in welding by the navy, he was on vacation! He used to call it "zapping." Maybe it used electricity, at least the type he meant by that term. I'm sure they taught him all kinds.
