Tribe Onyx Tree Harness
New Tribe's Onyx harness takes a new approach to a professional arborist harness. New Tribe has built pro and recreation tree climbing harnesses for decades, and that experience has culminated in the Onyx.

bought some Swedish dishcloths which last 3+ months and can be washed in the laundry, then can be composted. I'll use them to wipe surfaces with and clean up spills.

also bought some cloth napkins from Etsy. trying to reduce my consumption of paper towels which is what I use as napkins.

the other year I've switched my kitchen and countertop cleaning spray and bathroom cleaning spray to more environmentally friendly formulas, I also get my kitchen and surfaces cleaner in a large bottle of a concentrated form and then keep using the same spray bottle over and over. soap dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen are glass and I buy the biggest meyers refillable jug I can and refill them from there.

just trying to make a smaller environmental impact in a few ways.

I just ordered a NDDI 1500W Power Inverter, mostly because it was the Amazon lightning deal of the day and I wanted one to power a space heater.

I'm curious if it's going to work as expected, or catch on fire.

Received the lithium car battery that I bought used on eBay. Looks new and the battery tracker that came with it says it’s healthy and holding a 100% 13.3V charge. I did a little more research on charging and storage. Sounds like I should discharge it to 13.2V or so and put it out in the cold garage, disconnected. It should maintain its charge level that way (very low self discharge) and age the least. I didn’t need the lithium tender I bought with it it seems .. winter storage will be as simple as taking off a terminal and leaving it in the cold. And shouldn’t ever have to charge it outside of the alternator because it shuts itself off if it gets low.

Super quick cheapish way to save 1% off the weight of the car. Not much in isolation but it only takes 8-10% to make an absolutely huge difference and save ~25% in brake and tire life on track.

Since my neighbor downstairs decided to fall in love or something and stay at her boyfriends place all the time, my floors are now not as toasty as they used to be.

Got me a pair of Bombas soft and thick sock-like gripper slippers. Man these things are fantastic! Not too warm but just right. Decent amount of grip on my hardwoods.

Some black walnut bitters and an OXO chef's squeeze bottle to hold my simple syrup in for old fashioned's. Will break them all in tomorrow evening with the girl. I think a black walnut bitters old fashioned is probably better than with the classic bitters. I was not a fan with orange bitters at all.

Pretty excited to be shopping for camping gear having finally met someone who loves to go to a museum and a broadway show just as much as kicking back in the woods in a tent.

Kelty Double Wide sleeping bed, synthetic, 20 degrees (claimed), well-reviewed and only $200

Eureka Space Camp 4 tent. Found it on sale for $279 vs around $350. Thought about getting the 6 person for the extra height but just couldn't justify the expense.

Picked up a one year basic membership to the MoMa since I am planning to go this weekend and cover one floor plus a special exhibit. One of the greatest museums in the world.

Can go anytime for free, and bring a guest for $5. It's $25 for a ticket, so for two it's $50. Figured on stopping by a couple more times as well in the next year. It will work out well.

how is this different than a wash cloth that lasts years? washes things, can clean in laundry and use again..... this is my issue with "green" stuff. its trying to make something disposable better, when we already have something very similar and not disposable that will last many times as long and does not require anything new to be made.
