I do eventually want to do that but that's a huge job. Basically need to gut the entire house down to the studs, super messy as well. The kitchen would be the hardest, with the cabinets, sink etc. Maybe will do it one of these days though just no immediate plans. It would not really cost that much, just be super tedious.

They're able to do it from the outside. Remove some shingles/lengths of vinyl, drill 1-2" holes in the center of the stud bays, and inject insulating foam.

That's still a pretty tough and tedious job, if I'm going to do it I will do it right and do it from the inside. The spray foam wouldn't really get everywhere because of the fibreglass insulation so I doubt it would completely seal everything. It's still insulated it's just not very well.

Sennheiser momentum 4 wireless headphones are on sale everywhere for 299, so just ordered a pair. I know I'll like the sound signature on these better than the Sony offering

Also ordered a pair of the Neumann NDH 30 for my desktop DAC and amp setup. I love me some good open back headphones. Can't beat the soundstage

It looks gimmicky but the shiny stuff really does reflect heat like one of those mylar "space" blankets. Can't wear it unless temps are around freezing because you sweat your chonies off.

The Neumann's came earlier today. They are lovely. Not quite the soundstage of my Beyer T90 but a beautiful sounding headphone. Just using a touch of EQ and they sing.

Started up Tidal HiFi just to use on my desktop with the setup here.

The Momentum 4 shipped today. Gonna be some fun couch and bed listening with those. For some goddamn reason while the Pixel 7 pro supports AptX, it does not support aptx adaptive. Silly Google.

If that coat was in an infomercial they'd be talking about how that lining is space grade and the same thing they use on satellites and is approved by NASA.

The momentum 4 came in and they are lovely. Everything works smoothly, the touch controls are better than I thought, though it will take some getting used to since I normally use buds which use taps, which I customize. First world problem.

These do sound good, but after using the Neumann NDH 30 this week, I mean their superiority is night and day. As well they should be. Twice the price and no money spent on techy features and Bluetooth, just the SQ.

But the Senns are fun and I like their sound signature. Will be good on dog walks in the cooler weather, music and keeping me ears a bit warmer

two bottle of the VIP pre-poop spray. We just discovered it at an AirBnb. I left this message with our host ( she was cool )
"
Oh and that pre-poop spray?
That shit is like Frank's Red Hot for the bathroom. We had no idea. If someone invented that in the Middle ages they would have been burned as warlocks and witches it's magic."

Her reply: "Omg that’s the best post-visit message I’ve ever received 🤣"

I bought one of those about a decade ago when they were silver. It did seem warmer than an equivalent jacket but hard to say for sure. Somehow I lost it though.

Yeah for sure I'll probably want to do it a few times a year to be safe too until I get an idea how much it needs to be done. I'll mostly be burning pine because it's just the easiest to find so that can also be messier wood. I have a pile of cedar from when I cut my hedges though so I'll burn that this year. I kept it for when my parents make camp fires but they don't do many anymore so I will bring it all in the house to dry, but it should already be seasoned at this point. I'll probably buy a load of seasoned wood too.

Chimney sweeps were the first documented population with an occupational cancer risk. Don’t end up singing falsetto.

I imagine the early days were much more dirty but that's good to know... didn't realize you could get cancer from soot. Probably want to wear a mask when I'm doing it.

I don't think it's necessary. It isn't a very dusty process. You brush the chimney, the chunks fall down, and you vacuum them out. Don't stick your head in the chimney while breathing deeply. For homeowner use, the minimal exposure won't hurt. For professional use, I'd be more concerned about the soot on my skin.

Yep, the feel of steel is real. Yes it can be heavier but depending upon your style of riding, is just perfect. After riding aluminum for most of my life I worked at a bike shop and discovered steel frames. My two Soma frames that are built are both steel and perfect for my mostly urban riding, plus some gravel/rail trails riding. Helps reduce that chitter chatter from the roads better than aluminum, and carbon is just way too expensive.
Quite true (worked as a bike shop wrench myself for almost a decade) but there’s something about how good that alu stiffness feels when you stand and sprint.

Cool, been meaning to get into growing my own stuff. I need to do a huge cleanup in my basement/crawlspace and setup an area for it.

All I need now is the 3 gallon grow-bags and Fox Farms potting soil to arrive from Amazon then it will be time for planting!

What are you growing?

I have 2 dozen hybrid auto-flower seeds, 12x Gorilla Glue and 12x Girl Scout Cookies. (both are sativa-leaning and mature in roughly 12 weeks)
