The mission workshop Monty waxed canvas bag in the photo is years old, but the rest is pretty new. Perfect carry when it's a wet day out and you want to carry more than a small sling can fit, but don't need a big bag. Can be worn snug on the body is needed, good when running to catch a train.

Waterproof Ariat Chelsea boots. I tested them out in big puddles a couple days this week in rainy NYC. They work.

32oz hydro flask trail series bottle, light and good. Alpaka blue VX small tech bag for organizing smaller things in the bag.

The Monty has full waterproof lining inside, which makes one of the zippered compartments in it the perfect place to put a knirps umbrella. Even if wet, nothing else in the other sections of the bag gets wet.

All in all a solid wet weather load out.

Been getting pain in my wrists, so I decided to replace my Corsair K70 with a lower profile keyboard. So far I'm really enjoying it (and can actually type a bit faster). $70 off sealed the deal.

I splurged & got some pizza-ingredient containers:

They're similar to my Souper Cubes, where they're made out of silicone & have a wire frame for stability. They hold 250g pizza dough balls or 500ml of ingredients (sauce, cheese, toppings) with a 4.5" diameter. I used to just use clear plastic deli containers, but these are more compact & easier to clean, plus they stack, so they're a lot more space-efficient in my fridge! Easy to grease & freeze as needed. Amazon had the best deal available, a 5-pack for $50. Pricey, but at $10/ea for reusable, dishwasher-safe containers that will last for many years & that do the job perfectly with air-tight lids & with sufficient room to allow the dough balls to proof, I figured it was a pretty good investment:

My typical workflow now is:

Baking Steel: This is thick metal plate that you "charge up" for 45 minutes in your oven or grill to bake pizza on.
SuperPeel: Basically a Teflon-style conveyor purpose-built to load dough perfectly every single time.
4" pizza cutter: I've experimented with a lot of cutting systems over the years & this has been my favorite!
Kevjes proofing containers: Currently using these for dough balls & ingredients.
Cheese shredder: I have both a Presto Salad Shooter (throwback!) & a cheese-grating attachment for my KitchenAid stand mixer.

Indoors, I have a bottom-of-the-barrel non-convection oven that is capable of doing 550F. Outdoors, I use a custom-built 1,000F grill (charcoal/wood/gas/coal) along with a Baking Steel. They also have a variety of really neat pizza ovens now (Ooni, Roccbox, Solo, Qubestove, etc.). I used to work at a pizza shop back in high school & college, where I developed a love for making dough & making pizzas. I'm also a big fan of convenience, as I've learned that I'm about a thousand times more likely to do something when it's easy, and I feel like these dough-proofing containers are sort of the missing link for "ultra convenience" in my home pizza-making adventures!

27v 600w power supply.

Going to set it up so I can charge the solar battery from hydro or a generator, to improve my power backup setup. I'll have a generator inlet on the shed connected to it. I don't actually have a generator but that will probably be a purchase I'll want to do at some point. I already have power from shed going to the house and a few outlets throughout so in a power outage situation I can plug important loads in those. If after a few hours power does not come back then I'd start to get the generator out.

Kind of a spur of the moment thing, but I'll be working my night shifts from home for next little while until they get the new office setup so figured I should at very least have a setup so I can charge my solar battery and run loads at same time from an external power source. I can always borrow a generator if I'm in a pinch. Right now even if I got a generator I have no way to hook it up in a way that makes sense.

Grips for my Lamzu Atlantis mouse - the endgame mouse after 5 years of trying about 20 mice. Shape and size are perfect, clicks and build quality excellent, battery life is long.

The grips are a nice addition. Definitely felt better in my hand last night playing 2042. Gonna get a lot of use out of it today bunkering in from the icy weather.

Nice. I've been wanting to buy a tube tester since I have maybe 30 from when I was really into my tube headphone amp (Woo Audio WA22). I'm at the point where I want to sell everything off, but even though the tubes have been sitting unused for years, I don't know what condition they're in.

I have a small collection of testers from antique testers from the 30's to several built for the military.
And several lifetimes worth of tubes.

Sennheiser momentum 4 wireless headphones are on sale everywhere for 299, so just ordered a pair. I know I'll like the sound signature on these better than the Sony offering

Also ordered a pair of the Neumann NDH 30 for my desktop DAC and amp setup. I love me some good open back headphones. Can't beat the soundstage

Momentum 4 are on sale for $275 now - worth?

Really enjoy the sound, with a caveat about the bass - the ANC is great (though they say not as good as Sony's, but still quite impressive), I did like the touch controls. I prefer Senn> Sony sound. These are more bassy than other Senn products I have and like - they definitely are trying to compete with the popularity of bass heavy headphones - however from every review I read, these are the least offensive of all the main brands in the 'lean on bass' sound. So I got them. Comfortable. I think they look plain though, unlike the previous models.

My first pair was defective though. They have an auto detect when on head feature that auto-pauses when you take them off your head. That didn't work, and when it was enabled, the ANC touch controls would not work. When the auto-detect feature was off, ANC controls would work great. My replacement pair is coming this week, they were out of stock.

I did read that some other people had a similar issue, but it is a defect and a good pair will fix that. So I'm hoping this new set will be the ones. I'd recommend these but still not too happy about the defective set. I factory reset twice and that did not fix. It was a hardware issue.

I'm spending the day putting together a DAW for a friend with an ebay haul of a Thinkpad W500 [Core2Duo 9500 and a perfect 1920x1200 LED screen}, E-MU 1616m pcmcia cardbus audio interface, 2 SSD to replace the HDD and DVD, a docking station and a bunch of my software VSTs and Reason, Cakewalk and Sonar and such [from back when you actually "owned" software and could put it on multiple machines}. Total bill is about half of a new Focusrite Clarrett audio interface which has about the same specs as the E-MU. He's a better technical guitarist than I am now, but that's because I "loaned" him a guitar to learn on when he was 11. He took lessons for years and finally returned my old Takamine after about 20 years. I'd forgotten all about it TBH until he returned to the island and came for a visit. He's an engineer on the ferry to the mainland now so spends a couple weeks at a time on the boat so this'll help pass the time for him. He's brilliant on a violin and bass as well now. I guess that guitar was a good investment after all. I got it for $120 in a pawn shop when I worked in Alberta. I looked up the Takamine this morning and the first words of the review were "This rare and valuable instrument...." It's a single cutaway archtop with an outrageously beautiful pillowed maple top, but I never was drawn to the sound of it as at the same time I'd got a couple 1960's Hagstrom acoustic flat tops that kick its ass sonically but look much less spectacular. If I got all my instruments back that I've loaned out I'd have swim through them to get around in the house. Some may say that it may be an addiction, but I just appreciate the talent, effort and beauty of a well constructed instrument and kind of feel sorry for them if they don't get used. So yeah, maybe a kind of disease after all. At least I haven't taken up hoarding pianos yet, as that would get a bit much.

Was looking at Focal headphones but they are pricey, hence went with the Neumann NDH30. What would you recommend for a tube amp up to around 800? Thinking of getting one later next year. Currently have a Burson Soloist MkII as it was reviewed as a warmer sound, though not tube level. Have always been curious for when I eventually get a second amp. Any suggestions? Woo Audio? Cayin?

Part of me thinks I should just get another set of headphones to complement the T90 and NDH30's and my bassy JVC's vs a tube amp but it's definitely a coin flip now.

Got my kid a Core i3 12 gen, a Asus Prime H610i-plus D4 MB and 2X8GB of SP DDR4 RAM.

After putting it together, the system won't post and kept reporting RAM error. After swapping and taking one stick out at a time, found out one of the RAM slot is defective. =.=

Instead of returnign the MB, gone out and bought a stick of 1x16GB DDR4 RAM. All is fine now.
